Which one is which?
Its a great game, but its not masterpiece. Combat is very good, but not as well tuned as Sekiro, its predecessor. The world design is good, but not amazing, nevermind masterpiece level like Hogwarts is. The story is lacking.
The amount of gear is great, I agree. Lots of different weapons someone can use. The amount of spells? Most of them are useless. Even for coolness factor. I dont know if that changed any a year after release, but the first rebalance of spells certainly didnt.
You put 200+ hours into the game and arent done yet. Me? I judge the game after completing it all in 300 hours.
Its a game I would recommend to most people. But not to anyone that actually wants a story or immersive world. The experience itself can still be very immersive, provided the player can have a lot of fun just with the combat. Which I think is true for most people.
Reskinned old game? You might want to have your eyes checked, if that is what you saw.
It's called story. If you are used to dark souls game I can understand if you dont know what that is.
Elden Rings was dark souls like combat, which we had seen atleast 3 times before; except this time in an open world. It wasnt much of an innovation. As for challenge, there is definately a lot less then in Elden Rings. But who cares? Not every game needs to have ''souls-like'' difficulty.
Can't say I am. But I a am a fantasy fan and I can appreciate any game world that is as detailed as this one is. Elden Ring's world was extremely large, but had nowhere near this level of detail. It also had more reuse of same/similar area designs etc.
Yeah, if you dont care about story at all, then Hogwarts would feel like a drag. Same with any game that has a good amount of story. In that case, stick to games that dont have much story like Elden Rings/Dark Souls.
The area where Elden Ring beats Hogwarts the easiest is inventory management. Elden Ring has the best one ive seen - can obtain and hold every item in the game.
Hogwarts you have to trash items all the time because the gear limit is stupidly low for no good reason.
This game is an ok game FAR FROM A GOOD GAME, il run threw some key points in hopes it helps people come to a decision on there own on whether they want to spend the £50-£60 on it..
good points..
game has great graphics
lots of side quests and puzzels
its basicaly harry potter
amazing magic and animations
room of requirement is amazing
and now for the
bad points..
charecter creation is rubbish
no height or weight sliders
every face and hair is basicaly identical
1 male voice with bad pitch changes
male voice is soo anoying
sorting cerimony is useles 2 questions
story for game is pure liner
no concequinces for actions or decisions
no point in the house system whatsoever
thrown together for fans
theres 1 ending and thats the only ending
no replayability once its complete no point
no quidich probably to be added as payed dlc
playstation bonuses were far better than rest
extra quest and a shop to sell items only for playstation
this is not a AAA tytle yet cost is definetly AAA
flying is annoyingly tied to camera makes akward
game has really bad lag atleast for me it did
not playable because of stuttering and fps drops
the game will randomly quest glitch and corrupt saves
very poorly optomized especialy for AMD systems
i could go on for a while with a list of negatives but most will get the point
its a great harry potter fan game thats about it its not what id call an rpg
nor is it what id call a good open world game, there is lots to do but all the
gear you get is rendered absolutly worthless and pointless as its all gated
behind a lvl system and all the puzzels hold bad gear and usualy of low grade
the best gear in the game is legendary found not behind puzzels but usualy in
the open not even behind a lock, completly the oposite of what it should be.
worst of all is not a single decision you make, your house, being nasty, being good,
from being a slitherin to a gryfindor makes the slightest diference anywhere in
game all the dialog ends up meaningless and you end up feeling cheated.
most of my info comes from watching streamers as iv been unable to play the
actual game due to insane lag spikes, hard fps drops, and somtimes complete
stupendus stuttering from what iv read on forums and other places im not alone
seams to be the game isnt optomised in the slightest for amd systems which is
strange to leave half there customer basis in this much issues but guess il have
to wait and see if it gets fixed not holding my breath tho as many games launched
on steam rarely see fixes.
sorry for the spelling and punctuation im not good with that stuff and spellchecker
doesnt seam to work on steam.
If this didn't carry the franchise tag it would ALREADY be buried with other, better indies like Ashen or Titan Souls.
Its like comparing apples to oranges. It does not work!
Pretty sure the HP game is at least decent, but no game can pretend to be better than Elden Ring when their oepn world design is the same as the first Ass Crap released in 2007. It's safe, it feels warm and fuzzy to all the smooth brains roaming around, they don't have to think too much and the game point them to their next dose of dopamine.
Let me correct that.
Spoken like a true souless bot.
Comparing two different games again.........
