Females can enter male dormitory?

So, while I was playing I noticed that males cannot enter female dormitory, but females can enter male dormitory if they please. Now, I've heard that it is how it is in the books as well, however, it is still inequality. Males should be able to enter female dormitories if females can enter to male dormitories. It is stupid.

What do you think about it?

I have no idea how to answer this without sounding completely and horribly sexist and misogynistic, and its also probably the most historically accurate part of the 1800's setting. There is several reasons why women would be allowed in mens rooms and bathrooms, but not the other way around. If you really want to think about it without me having to get absolutely hated on, remember women didn't even have voting rights until 1920; So piece together the dots on why women could go where men shouldn't be and why nobody would care back then.

The witch/wizard option in character creation describes that its for dormitory access, so I assume it does.

By that logic it should be the reverse.
