We're in February, 2020
And still no news ?
Can we consider this abandoned ?

Very disappointing, enjoy our money devs.

How is it abandoned? It's a complete game. I can understand if it was early access and they stopped updating it but it's been on full release for a long time now.

That being said I would love updates with more heroes/unit variety, and balance changes, AI fixes and optimizations, but that being said, the core of the game is done.

They shoved this out to make money, found out it didnt make much and then dropped it. Yes, no more real updates, maybe some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stuff to try and make cash, but nothing worhwhile. They should have made a real RTS game and that would have sold alot! I alone, would have purchased 3 or 4 editions to give away.

A complete game ? A game that launches and can be played isn't de facto finished. It needs several updates concerning its gameplay and content.
It's still enjoyable but quickly becomes boring and repetitive. If the devs don't do anymore updates and remedy to this situation, then it's abandoned.

Having only the core of the game finished, it's barely a beta. I've seen EA games with more content and depth.

this game is awesome and its a complete game there not supposed to add updates for eternity or at all. talk about entitled. And having the core compeltes is an absolute complete game

This game has a lot of potential and unfortunally pains my heart to say it feels short on content.

Im playing again and i'm loving my time there, much more now than back when it was released but it really needs some features like:
- more biomes.
- more heroes.
- light rpg elements for heroes like passive trees, more than 2 equipables and more than 1 ability.
- map creation.
- creep and enemy variety (maybe other enemy factions).
- ability to locate all troops on the map.
- easier game modes for new players.

I know it's hard to ask for features like this with the underwhelming reception maybe no publisher or dev wanna invest on this, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ does this have potential.

The only way off proving a game is unfinished is if the devs promised more or the game dosent run etc.

Your just complaining that it dosent have as much content as other games. that dosent mean its unfinished.

imagine i compare skyrim to every other RPG. as soon as any off them fall short off the content = " this game is unfinished"

less than a year old and it only cost 16.99 full price. thats cheap.

I hate to make an ad populum argument but if a game is less than 20 USD for the vast majority of the world and still has only 19 players, it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks, it's not "awesome"

This thing will probably go F2P when Tencent acquires Funcom this year and I doubt anyone will even play it then

For reference, there are literally more people playing Quake (1996) through Steam than this game right now

potential lost

overpriced tower defense, buy strongholds instead, thats what i call finished game

It is sad that they do all just "barebone" games, if they just insvest little more time and hire good story and campaign writer/designer, then we will have another good strategy comparable to Warcraft 3, age of empires ...

Unfortunately this is the culture we live in, especially on Steam forums where devs are expected to update their games with new content forever.

this game just needs some love from the modding community, its a hidden gem

$16.99? I paid $9.99 just last week!
I couldn't believe it came with ALL the heroes.
I thought one of them was pre-order only or a $10 DLC.

I agree. It's a hidden gem and worth $9.99. The problem seems to be that some players want this to be a completely different game. It is what it is. If I want to play Stronghold...I'll play Stronghold. I don't want to play Stronghold. I want to play Conan U. But can you imagine what Modders could do with this game now? It would be on par with Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War after THAT community took over.

Well, personally i don't want an other game, just a polished Conan unconquered. A game where I don't tell my self "hmm this is unfinished, hm this should be added"etc.

Dawn of war is finished and don't need its mods to be complete and polished. Conan unconquered in its current state is but a mere beta.

Graphics, gameplay, balance... There's many points that need to be work on. A game is not finished because you can play it without crashing or purple pixels.

The game is cheap because it's dead. Why not facing it? Just compare it to other petroglyph's games... It's not finished and we'll have to deal with it. There's no purpose defending this game, but there is one when you ask for answers and some updates.

Yes it's a hidden gem, but as any other precious stones, it needs some work in order to shine.

This game launched day one as a budget title. It was advertised from day one as a smaller, side project for the studio/ publisher, it already reuses a handful of assets (sound effects, music, etc.) from Conan Exiles.

I think people misunderstood what this is. This isn't a $60, AAA release you can expect to sink 100 hours into and gets updated every week. This is a very fun, very polished, co-op survival RTS lite. It delivered everything the devs promised it would (and then some), and is still worth the asking price.

This game is an awesome distraction, and I imagine it turned a quick buck for the publisher while they focus on more Conan Exiles DLC (which Funcom have already announced will be coming in the second half of 2020).

It literally did not turn a quick buck. Stop talking out your ass. This thing was a financial disaster that, at best, was a way to claim a loss on taxes.

Pictured: the CEO of Funcom telling you it was an economic failure

BTW, the game is not polished, either.
