Mod Release: Galt's Gulch
I've just released my first mod! It's a relatively simple mod, based entirely around Rearden Metal.
I was annoyed that there weren't any crafting recipes that used it, so I decided to make some!

The game talks about the material being dangerously unstable, so I figured it only made sense to have the equipment made out of it be dangerously unstable too: Rearden Metal equipment *all* has some chance of exploding - sometimes on your enemies, sometimes on yourself. It's... probably not very useful? But I'm sure someone will figure out an insane explosion resistance build based around it anyway.

I made two versions, the regular version and the Meltdown Edition, the latter of which has additional recipes to fit in alongside other equipment with the Meltdown or Advanced Craft'n'Smelt mods. Personally, I'll be exclusively using the Meltdown Edition, but I figured it's always good to have options.

Oh! And I added it to my Dredmorpedia instance[hate9.github.io], so you can explore the specifics of the effects or whatever in that, if you want.

Check it out and let me know what you think! I always love feedback and advice, and this is my first Dredmor mod so it's especially helpful!

I agree that Rearden Metal is underused in vanilla Dredmor, considering how common it is. That said, there's (at least) two Encrusting recipes that use it (Rearden Crust and Ultimate Rearden Crust). But yeah, it is odd.

It's great to see that people are still involved with this game. I tend to revisit it every 6 to 12 months or so between whatever other game(s) I temporarily become obsessed with.

Oh yeah, I'm aware of the encrusting recipes - although as far as I can tell that's the only use it has in vanilla.
Same! Dredmor is easily one of my favorite games, and I revisit it a lot. It's actually kinda wild that it's taken me this long to try out modding it!

Finally managed to figure out a movement detection trigger, so now the boots (usually) explode when you walk in them during combat!
