ALthought I'm not very familiar with ATs, I can tell you that being freeform, being able to choose whatever powers you want generally ends up being a cherry picker's dream. But.. in order to be viable for a build, especially end-game, you follow a simple rule.
Pick a certain power or few powers and make your build all about supporting and boosting those powers.. you can literally have an energy builder, one AoE and one single target power and the rest boosts, defenses and heals. It's just a matter of preference.
There are lots of maps beyond the Canada and Desert maps. Specifically: (and someone can correct me of I miss one) Monster Island (level 29 to 40), Lemuria (33ish to 40), Vibora bay (level 34-40), etc. So.. quite a few yet to explore not to mention the alerts. Plus we've gotten new tanks, bikes, chariots, exocets (the submarines the Lemurians use), new becomes, new events (liek the one going on right now which is called "Fatal Error" which puts you inside a computer basically ridding it of viruses which is pretty cool and in it's first stage (more to come).
But the game, to me, has always really been about the ability to live as a superhero.. and it's the only REAL superhero MMO out there that lets me have that feeling. Plus the character creator (AKA Tailor) is unequaled in ANY game so far of any genre for that matter.
We also have better gear now with 3 and 4 slots available. and a Fusion system that replaced the crafting system to give you higher level mods to put into those slots that boost stats, dodge, avoidance, etc.
If I were you, I'd play through the tutorial the first time you try to play when you get back, then ask me or some of the other veterans about things (or just hit up zone) if you have questions.
We actually have a really great community as far as MMOs go in the game.
I'm Bacon Overlord in the game too, so if you have questions, feel free.
Thanks for all the helpful advice :) it sounds like they've improved things a bit. What do you do from level 1-13 then, just Milennium City? Lol.
I think I'll pop in and give the game another go. Could be fun :D I always almost-loved the game, just baarely not enough to truly get engaged in it. Maybe the third time is the charm.
You can get 1-15 from the open world city missions/Socrates
It is easier with help.
whyever you wrote that in a totally unrelated 7 years old thread...
but fatal error, especially its bosses don't really scale to level, so being lvl 40 and not a dps-AT without self-heals should be enough, besides that, as was said, get other players to help you.
