Hello, Tricky!

I had a gold account for a while, then I stopped playin' for a bit. Then I came back, got addicted all over again, but still don't have a gold account.

In my eyes, it's not worth it. Yes, you get access to gear styles, a stipend, and access to more powers and such, but that character becomes LOCKED to gold- meaning if you don't pay, you can't play (the gold character). You can if you transfer them back to Silver, but if you do that, you can't put them back to Gold when you're ready.

Instead, for me this time around, I purchased a Free Form Character Slot. It's fifty bucks (which might seem like a clencher), but you get to make whatever kind of hero you like (of course, some powers are locked and oyu will have to purchase them with Zen). But, at least I have unlimited access to her, and if i decide to spend more Zen, it's just for costume pieces or powers- not a subscript.

Also, I chose to pay for a Free Form Character knowing that I could make Questionite to turn into Zen. It takes some time, but it's totally worth it in my eyes, as you aren't limited to a set subscription, can access any of the games content with the right amount, and it gives the game more playability (in my eyes, of course).

As far as the Community- it depends on the phase you're in. Some can be bare, other can be full to the brim with new and veteran heroes alike. One things for sure, anytime I've been in the Power House, I've seen an isht ton of New Champions.

I got a Subscription for DC Universe because of the Money thing (if you don't have a subscript, you get a cap on the money you can keep in pocket). Though I like that you can have a character paid for and still play for free later in DC, in Champions- I personally wouldn't get a subscript, jus a Free Form Character Slot.

Sorry it was long, I tried to explain it the best I could! Hope it helped, and if you see Foxy Fine around Millenium City, say "Hiiiiiii"! ;)

Gold for 3 years. I think it's worth 10$ a month for the Free Form Heroes.

iam a gold, and i like so much the freedom of powers you have with gold... for me Champions online is good with silver or gold, but i preffer gold because only with gold account i finaly make my immortal Dragon, without gold i never make this so easy... but ohey this is my opinion, gold is good for players like more and freedom, but all things have good point and bad points... depends on your needs too, and etc.

I am a lifer and going gold or becoming a lifer gets 500 zen a month to spend on what u want plus FreeForm where u get to use every power in the game to create your own hero. FF will get u 2 more slots when picking powers, so FF get extra powers to play the game with theres a lot of powers the ATs dont get to choose from. ATs get get a limited power choice and the spec tree are chosen for you, FF get to choose what ever they want. powers wise the ATs are mostly sound and they can get the job done but FF are just more powerfull.

If you really decide to go heavy into the game it's not a bad investment. While it would take some time you could potentially grind out enough questionite to afford a Free Form slot. Which from there you could go back to free. But there's a lot of pitfalls of this, as you still have to grind out more questionite to unlock the archetypes powers for use in a FF slot, and unlike a gold, you cannot pick the colors of your powers. Oh and f course you could still grind out the questionite from a silver account anyway, going gold just makes it a bit easier Imo

If you plan to invest 300 hrs in the game then it would be worth it, otherwise save your money. I was a moron and bought it thinking they'd "actually" come out with the Champions Online for the 360 but of course that fell through.

HAH 300 hours?? I've invested nearly 3000 so far

I was Silver for the longest time playing this game, and finally decided to give Gold a try (because I had played all the ATs I was interested in). I totally love being able to make unique Free Form characters, the extra costume parts are nice, and I definately like the extra character slots and costume slots. I think it's totally worth it, and if you are smart, you can cut your costs each month for your sub (I pay $5.50 a month).

I just want a gold trial so I can tell if its worth it or not my self.

I've been gold for a year and I'd say it was worth the money if you're going to be playing the game. It's on sale right now, only 30$ for 3 months.

I've been lifetime since beta.. I got in when it was $150 (with the purchase of the game soo.. $200 basically). I haven't regretted it for a single day. Granted, when it first opened the community was garbage. But it has weened itself down to mostly good folks which amazes me and is part of the reason I keep playing.

Is it worth going gold? Yes.

Why is it worth going gold? Well, you get 500 zen a month which is worth $5, plus you get access to all the costumes and all of the ATs, etc. That's all money saved. Plus you get to color your powers, carry up to 214,000 globals in your pockets at a time, get a free hideout, are eligible to start receiving veteran rewards, etc. The list goes on and on.

Hello, was playing gold & decided to go to silver , but much to my chagrin
discovered could not play my hybird characters, would have thought could have played them since had paid for this prior, also not sure how sub is only $10 or $5 month, i was being charged $14 a month, I dont know , one would think that there could be option to play these characters w/t play for free option w/t some kind of micro payment, very disappointed, too bad this seemed to be a very cool game, also was charged on my cc w/t out my permission or notification, if any to this changes might consider comming back, but right now there are lots of games out there without these constraints. Oh well food for thought.
