also why is the dev getting the clown award?
As far as the clown award, I am assuming it's pretty much from that link and the way they are talking around the whole issue. To be honest I think STEAM needs to remove some of these "awards" from the system as they are intended to insult messengers and people saying things one simply does not like. If nothing else there should be a moderated approval process before being allowed to use them. While admittedly silly, I'm not sure if being able to flag a dev post that way is a good idea both for professional reasons, and the fact that despite the way it is said the link does answer all the questions.
It should also be noted "Logic Artists" has been in a dubious place since it's very first game, which is probably why it got bought out to begin with. To put it simply their historical "expeditions" series, while successful enough to go on has received a lot of criticisms from people that feel it glorifies the bad parts of history, or is historically inaccurate in the way it doesn't embrace the American positions of Afrocentrism. For example in some areas "Expeditions Rome" gets crap for Cleopatra and at least 2/3rds of the Roman nobility not being black. The same has been being retroactively projected on "Vikings" where again it doesn't represent the Afrocentrist take on reality. Albeit both of these games are old enough (even if Rome is pretty new) to have avoided the brunt of it.
I suspect given the talent of the game developers the team working for THQ-Nordic will largely be folded into other, less controversial, projects and probably kept away from doing more historical stuff until things settle down (hopefully with sanity being restored). The NFT developer will probably just have them developing exactly what everyone is concerned about until that bubble bursts... which is will, as I do not think that concept of "The Metaverse" will last longer than the Wii craze if it ever arrives. Elen Musk, whatever you think of his politics or personal intelligence, already has a lot of money invested in neural technology that is going to make actual "Virtual Reality" as opposed to "goggle based cartoon reality" as the meta verse operates on into an actual thing. As the replacement is already being developed at the time as the blockchain based NFT tech and that entire thing, it's at best a bubble some people will exploit.
i did not really notice anything, could you explain it to me please?
Quoting trimmed, not sure if this will post properly.
There isn't much in detail to say about it. The basic gist of it is that according to Afrocentrism all real civilization throughout the world came from Africa and throughout most of history black people were running all of the great empires and civilizations and white people were their servants until some weird event nobody can explain somehow lead to a massive uprising in which blacks were overthrown and replaced by lighter skinned people and a conspiracy has been hiding the truth and involves both the western and eastern worlds.
At any rate when it comes to Cleopatra she was from the Ptolemaic Dynasty which was founded by one of the generals of Alexander The Great. She had very light skin as that dynasty heavily inbred to maintain it's bloodline (not uncommon then) and only had a few arabic types in the bloodline. Hence what we know of the description of Cleopatra from numerous sources, this carried on to her children Caesarion (via Julius Caesar) and Cleopatra-Selene (via Marcus Anthony). That said Afrocentrism posits that this was a lie and very dark skinned Africans actually formed and ran Egypt, and Cleopatra was black. This "new scholarship" has no real backing or justification but is being taught in some places and is being used as the basis for the upcoming Netflix series about Cleopatra.
At any rate according to some stuff I read the Expeditions games have been targeted for "telling lies about history" as they don't embrace the reality of Afrocentrism, which is becoming a sin to many, hence why Netflix is doing that series (I kid you not). Basically according to them all the Roman elite should be dark skinned black folk, and Cleopatra should also be black. Likewise while they have not gone so far as to claim Vikings should be black the same place I remember that from was insulting "Expeditions: Vikings" for not having most of the european ruling class be black like they should have been according to Afrocentrism. According Afrocentrism they have "the real pictures" of various European leaders that were hidden somehow and replaced, apparently according to this Charlamagne (the French Emperor) was a large black man who looked sort of like the musician Barry White, but you know... with a sword.
If you do searches for Afrocentrism you should find plenty of stuff about this, I heard the crticisms of these games a while back, so not sure how easy they would be to fine, but if you dig you'll see so many attacks you'll likely have few doubts.... and as I said, when it comes to Cleopatra herself, you need only look as far as the upcoming Netflix series.
