The game doesn't take into account gender when generating partners. There should be a 66.666666666666% chance that the person would end up with a partner that's Non-binary or the same gender, with only a 33.333333333333% chance for to be the opposite sex. So in all likelihood it's more plausible to be gay
> Creates 24/7 "Look at me! me! me! me!" parades/flags/subversion literally EVERYWHERE
> Scoffs at ppls "obssession" with the never-ending irl political statements
apparently saying that you should be yourself and just have respect for everyone being theirself and that these kind of groups are creating polarization in society is racism/discrimination nowadays.. I received a warning for my post literally saying that you should just be yourself and stop polarizing society with all kind of groups.. GG steam moderation :/
But i am guessing the point of this thread was more to garner some attention and some reaction rather than discussing anything substantive. I did like the appreciation someone made that the world of shadows of doubt is not comparable to our own when it comes to gender biases and norms, and that thus it makes no sense applying our political and societal considerations to it and comparing 1 to 1.
I personally don't really see the sense in symbols of LGBTQ+ pride in a world that seemingly has never known any gender normative oppression and does not at all discriminate or judge non cis NPC. I think it's a somewhat refreshing idea to have nonbinaries feature so heavily in a game, although i am not always sure how much the current implementation gets it right and avoids it getting in the way of gameplay sometimes.
Beyond that, i think this thread is rather asinine. /shrug
I don't know about all that but I do find that having 'non binary' as a potential option in the 'sex' category to be annoying because in the context of the game it's meaningless. You're a detective looking for a murderer, you're only interested in the details about these NPCs because you want to know how to identify them. They have no personalities that could be elucidated with that info so it's essentially the same as leaving the ???? there.
Ew.
