The Dead of Night's creepy phone call
Early on in The Dead of Night case, you get a phone call that is just creepy breathing. I traced it back to a phone booth three blocks down and snagged a fingerprint off the phone.

The interesting part is that this fingerprint does not match the one of the killer in The Dead of Night. However, I have no idea as to how to track somebody down using only a fingerprint other than checking the government database for 300+ names.

That reminds me I meant to look into that phone call, but forgot, and now it's days later...

I had an arrest job once that mostly only gave me a fingerprint (a couple of other details too, but even less helpful), and I ended up finding my target by going building to building and scanning all doors for prints until I got them.

Still tedious, but better than searching the gov database.

phone calls stay for ages in the system, just need to know approximate time, probably january first

Oh, I thought it was just a couple of days, like surveillance videos.

I could load an old save to get the details and still check it out, then.

But I've also read that fingerprints fade with time, so I don't know how helpful it'd be.

I guess I could reload an old save, check the phone logs, go find the prints, and then take note of that and use that in the game at the point I'm at.
