BROKEN GAME -> DON'T BUY!!!
Well it's almost been two weeks and the developers haven't done anything to fix their broken game so I could actually play it for the very first time. I'll be making certain not to ever buy another game from this developer. Was really looking forward to playing this game, but I'm not about to let myself get stuck with some crap the developer is too lazy to fix. Titled my thread this so anyone looking to buy the game that browses boards first will get a fair warning that it's useless to buy this game right now cause I don't expect Steam to put a notice up on the Store Page informing people that they already know the game is broken. Clearly they prefer to just keep taking peoples money for a game they know is broken. Gotta love capitalism.

After the problem was announced, the developers immediately sent a message to Steam that they were working on a hotfix. a hotfix takes time. something like that doesn't happen overnight. one should give the developer the necessary time to recognize the error and fix it. this can take a month or more. the motto here is to be patient.

Developers don't test their patches? The problem happened after their patch

Do you work for or happen to be friends with one of the developers or something? Make excuses for them all you want but it's not common for a better known developer to release a patch so broken that no one at all can even load the game. Then sure, things take time. But know what doesn't take time? The window that people have to refund that got suckered into buying a broken game. Someone said it had been six days since they broke their game, so that leaves around 8 days. But that's only if Steam actually answers refund ticket the same day as its submitted, which is near guaranteed not gonna happen. So really there's perhaps six days or less left for anyone that recently purchased to get their refund. That's fine if you're more forgiving towards them but I don't feel like you can blame us very much for being upset. I paid full price for a game they knew was broken, in my naivety I presumed it was safe to buy a game without raiding user forums to find it the game is even working or not.

no, i'm not friends with developers. I am also affected by the error that was included in the patch. I was also annoyed that it wasn't playable. but still, errors occur. and before you buy a game, you first find out whether it is something for you. And if something doesn't go as it should. then you tell the developers. and then they have to take care of it and fix it. and that just takes time.

It shouldn't have to be on the customer to commit ample time into researching whether or not the game is actually functional. If it's not only for sale, but they are actively promoting it with hosting influencer streams on twitch and their sales pages instead of fixing their game then it should be safe for the customer to presume they will get to play the game they purchased as soon as the download and install finishes.

No one at all? No one at all can load the game you say? I bought the game over the week end, have had no real issues other than things which needed to be tweaked, and am almost through most of the levels, with 20 out of 30 achievements unlocked. Yes things can be optimized, fixed, and touched, but by no means is it unplayable for me. You do not speak for me sport. As a matter of fact, Im going to go play it right now.

I put up 33 screen shots as proof. There are some weird graphical glitches once in a while, but it plays. I'm going to go eat a turnip now, later.

In principle that's true in a perfect world, but this is not a perfect world. Have you ever heard the phrase "Buyer beware?" Any time you buy anything you should do some research to see if it's for you and if there's problems. Automobiles are notorious for having problems that are much more severe than a video game, sometimes life-threatening problems like exploding air bags or faulty anti-collision systems, and people have to put up with those problems until they're fixed. We have buggy video drivers, buggy operating systems... this is the world we live in.

Wow, that's pretty rude.
Well, if the game was fixed I wouldve bought it on the last sale. I hope to see news that they fixed the problems next sale.

This is really ironic after reading your OP and comments.

The DLC-related bug that prevented people from starting the game has been fixed, but there is another bug that causes crashes (and will soon probably be fixed as well).
I actually agree that big problems like this shouldn't stay unfixed for such a long time (even during the holidays) and ideally they shouldn't happen in the first place, so I'm not defending Madmind's mistakes. In fact, Succubus is generally unpolished and I'm a bit disappointed by everything now that the game is more than a year old and content complete. But it's up to each player to decide if this lack of polish is a big problem for them. I personally think the game is enjoyable enough for its price and I appreciate that the developers are filling this particular niche. I just hope they keep learning from their mistakes and improving their quality.

I think the price on sale is worth, the only reason I didnt really bought it was because no price is worth the game not launching at all, and I couldnt find official notes on the fix for that, so the lack of communication, on top of a not so well finished game was enough to put me off.

But I still want to buy this. Hell, hack and slash with titties and kinky stuff? thats my jam man, im totally down for it. Just want to make sure the game will launch after I purchase it hahaha
