screw egs
still has a few days left...
Yes, and I didn't suggest or claim otherwise.
I'm just happy the game is coming to GOG, because I'm not sure I would have bought it if it was only available here. I've given a lot of money to Valve over the years, and I'm not exactly thrilled with what Steam has turned into these past few years.
Not to mention I just feel GOG is a better place to buy games because it's not a rental platform (which is what Valve has straight up said Steam is). I feel like I get more for my money, and actually "own" what I buy on GOG.
Don't worry about Succubus though, because it isn't going to be censored on Steam. It's just not going to be uncensored right out of the box. Basically that means you'll just need to download an additional DLC on Steam, or if that DLC is banned in your country you will need to download the update from the other source.
GOG will have an out of box Adult Only version for sale that doesn't require a DLC or patch, and then a normal version (same as Steam version with no DLC / Patch) which will need an offsite patch.
Bottom Line: The game is gonna be the same on both platforms at the end of the day. Where you choose to buy would come down to what store you like better, and the unique benefits each one provide.
@OP I hope you read it correct. It can be still banned in your country!
I can only use option Three and downloading the patch/DLC from her Website.
In my Country the Unrated (Uncut) DLC will banned everywhere!
But on the bright side - At least there's an offsite patch option for the folks in your situation.
I'll give one example of a game that wasn't banned or censored, but something even worse, and that's Valve intentionally sabotaging someone's product (and livelihood). The game is called Gun Gun Pixies. It's a game that is on Nintendo Switch, and Playstation Vita, and was rated by the ESRB as "M" for Mature.
As well all know "AO" games are not allowed, or effectively banned on Consoles. That's a fact, but for some reason Valve forced the Adult Only tag on that game here, because they didn't like it. The publisher confirmed they had nothing to do with that label, and the content was the same as the consoles.
So Valve intentionally sabotaged someones game and livelihood (one that was already officially rated "M" by the ESRB) because they didn't like the content. AO games have much less vision here, because by default all profiles can't view them, and they're automatically banned in a lot of important countries.
Does that seem okay to anyone? Whether you like the game or not, it was a game on consoles officially rated by the ESRB. Valve shouldn't let personal feelings get involved and intentionally hurt someone.
This type of stuff happens all the time here, with game bans and effectively forced censorship. Again, I'm not saying I agree with the content or not, but Valve isn't exactly the good guy here, and to say they're liars and have intentionally and maliciously damaged studios because of games they don't like is totally true.
yeah its stupid, but my solution are keysellers. Only workaround without to risk a VPN Ban
keysellers are a nice and solid workaround, for sure. But in this case most likely nobody will have to use them. Because in the end, if the unrated content will be blocked in some countries, then just buy the censored game and download the unrated patch form Madmind Studios homepage. No biggie :)
