And it took them THREE ENTIRE MONTHS just to apply some anti-cheat. Meanwhile people are still clinging to this "toxic hate" bull, which feels more like a meme than a valid argument at this point.

We don't have any form of proper communication with them, aside from bootleg Zendesk, while Honkai Impact had an official Discord server years before they brought this game aboard Steam - that game had a separate PC launcher for quite some time!

I'm glad I dropped this game as soon as my Lass set foot on Ellia. I thought that him not having his ninja poof skill (Y'know, pressing down during his basic attack combo) was some sort of crazy glitch, but then people at reddit were praising KoG because it would make players "git gud". Yeah, I saw how much they became better by spreading all of these hacks everywhere.

What about the private servers they just shut down? Part of a cheap marketing stunt. And don't get me started on how this game is just to get money for their new game, all they need to do is to get rid of Kurtzpel for starters. Who plays that game? Less than 500 players average, in a bloatware that requires 8 GB of ram just to be playable, and has no relevant content aside from character creation and a character that looks like Atago from Azur Lane.

Dude says "THREE ENTIRE MONTHS" as if this was an even reasonable amount of time. It is not enough time for a good anti-cheat, not even nearly enough time to do a very good one. And if you consider that most of the game is dealt client-side ... well ... they don't even have many comercially available solutions.

It seems you do not work on the security systems development industry, do you? If you do and you can do such a system in such a time you can get rich my dude, go for it.

Couldn't they simply slap a Xigncode on this game? Also, the files were all open-source, which means that five minutes after the game was released, /vg/ dwellers already had cheat engine tables ready.

Then again, KoG is a company where you can use cheats without being punished if you're friends with staff members.

Yes, but it was going to be as bad as it is today. Yes, files should be encrypted and that would be faster to do.

But Grand Chase bets on nostalgia too, file accessibility and client-side are things that have always been and that are kinda cool to exist. Hell, it's part of what makes possible the existence of so many pirated servers and access to information that we wouldn't have, like which pet is strong and worth farming, etc. I don't think there is such an easy solution without a commitment from the kog that might alienate some players.

Don't get me wrong, as the company responsible for the game they should make a choice and the game isn't as good as it is. I really can't believe they're trying so hard to change (It would all start with better contact with the community, engine change and recoding and it's all visible that they're NOT doing it)
