What's with the stupid reviews about a launcher?
Sad, sad individuals. Get a life.

I believe the paradox launcher contains the modding community, similar to steam workshop. The same idiots whining about the launcher will be posting here in 3 months with ♥♥♥♥ like "steam workshop whennn?? derp"

We don't want paradox holding our mods anyways and want workshop. LittleBigPlanet lost what 15 years of content... Paradox will be easily next someday... Excuses to destroy modding say on an old game they want people to buy their newer version of the game and OPPPS we hit the wrong button.

Paradox is probably making them do it because they made a deal with the devil. My concern is the paradox business model of try and sell the customer as much useless garbage as possible. Sure it's EA now but if this becomes a viable product things will get cut out to be sold to you later. Again. No Thanks. Pass.

If every game required a launcher, it would just be hell. Especially since it doesn't add anything to the game other than an extra installation and extra processes on the machine. The argument used by devs is the management of online saves, which is not enough to justify an account + a launcher.

Honestly, so far, you don't need steam or any launcher for mods.
All though the alpha testing, the Next Fest demos, and even the steam release supports modding.

There is a mod folder in the games install folder and you can just download and toss mods in there, nothing else needed to be done. Can find mods on the games discord in the modding channel, look at the pinned messages for links.

Im just now checking this game out and its funny because when I see the only negative reviews mention things that arent gameplay related at all it just makes me convinced the game is fine and will probably buy it.
Like people really wont play a game with a launcher and expect others to have the same ridiculous expectation lol.
Infact every paradox game ive played has a launcher and it has never caused me an issue or made me think man I cant play or suggest this game to others.

Paradox launcher = Not gonna buy the game.
Great way to shoot yourself in the foot devs.

People like to complain, and well they find anything. Paradox is known for it loader every single game I have which is a lot has them from paradox. Also they will ♥♥♥♥♥ about DLC which is also a paradox thing. Don't like it don't buy it is my motto. I like paradox they given me years of entertainment.

That's a bad practice from Paradox and I won't buy this while the launcher is there. For me it was a helpful review.
you don't even have to sign in to paradox to use it. it's literally a launcher that pops up immediately and says "play game." do you complain about Fallout games doing the same thing?

Does the launcher mean Paradox are going to sell DLC for sure?

I assume so. I mean they added a Founders edition that I doubt would have never existed if they self published. But it's in Early access so no DLC's for a while hopefully.

Steam is already a launcher... Why bother peoples with useless crap that use your ressources in background for no purpose.
Imagine if every publisher would behave like that...

Yes, account creation is optional - at this point in time.

The launcher just shows me that this will not be the case in the future - they can change that whenever they want - and I am not willing to have a third launcher on my screen when the Steam UI is available.

Better refund now than later.

[EDIT]
PS: It would have been different if a small window had been displayed mentioning that an optional launcher is available.
PPS: Why are third party launchers not shown on the steam shop page?

Dude paradox has been around for many years with this same launcher. I have yet to have to log into anything. And I play Stellaris one of the longest running DLC ridden Paradox game ever. So chill out, you don't have to log in ever.

Multiple posts of people crashing and having install issues with the launcher being the cause... Clearly years later and it still causes issues. Moving on..............

The launcher has a convenient 'resume' option. So the joke is on those bypassing the launcher.
