Spirit Healer and Sentry Ward
Is the Cleric (Spirit Healer) and Ranger (Sentry) focused builds not worth while? It seems to me, that those builds have way to much build up and positional awareness to actually work.

For example the Cleric's Holy Wave, why isn't that a channel spell or cost 2 AP? Early game it's a trap card because the two random spells you get there is a high chance you won't be in position to use them, or be able to move and cast the spell. My early game cleric Holy wave was a dead card in my hand. Holy Force wasn't much better. I think they both could benefit from being channel spells.

The heals you get also feel lack-luster.

Ranger's Ward also seems like a better build up, but also not worth the manage. Doing damage just seems better, Van the Man showed that some combos are just too good, and have only slight build up. Where Ward needs the card in hand, meaning you can go 1-2 turns without the Sentry. While just setting up Prime shots or sharpshooter skills seems way more advantageous.

i'm sure if someone could make Spirit healer and Sentry work it's probably Van, but right now I'm feeling like those builds seems mediocre. Am I missing something?

Given the amount of feedback we've received regarding these schools and heroes - we will making major balance changes to the cards from these schools across the board.

We'll be making healing cards more useful by introducing an element of purging debuffs to them, and removing the Expend tags from some of the weaker cards.

Upgrade cards will tentatively be playable on all structures regardless of them being Sentries or Wards. To better improve the card draw to get the structures needed for these builds, you'll be able to pick the school you want for draws and redraws, and in general there will be more gear focused on helping builds that require buildup.

Hope that answers your questions!

I'm actually playing Catherine as Healer and she pairs amazingly with Ida. Reason for that is that Catherine has couple activator card thad give Might and Critical buffs on anybody healed. I have told it in more detail in this thread:

But for short - critical is priceless to elemental druid as her spells either attack multiple targets or attack several times.

Also dedicated healer build give you access to spells like - heal any ally for 10 (and buff them) or heal one for 16 (again, with buff). Or resurrect the fallen ally. Or make temporal healing card permanent.

But this is quite specific combo and in general indeed, healing needs to be made better.
