Quaver
is it just me or does makeing the scroll speed go faster make the game easier
i mean not like all the way faster but like putting it up to like 23 made it feel way easier for some reason

Higher scroll speeds (within reason) make it easier to read patterns because of increased spacing and less notes on the screen at once.

As Meseki says, it's much easier because you have to memorize fewer notes, there is more space, and the note capture point is wider (only visually). The problem is that it's a double-edged sword, although it's easier and you also get more precision at the same time reducing reaction time. The reaction time of a human is around 150 to 400 ms (average 225 ms).

So I play at a speed of 26 ~ 30.

At 26 the reaction time is sufficient, so I hit all the notes but with an average precision of less than 92 - 95%

At 28 the reaction time is just enough to get over 98% but sometimes I miss 1 to 4 notes.

At 30 the reaction time is less than what I can so I get less than 90% accuracy, even though I see all the notes I can't react in time to hit the notes which results in me missing more than 10 notes.

If you can memorize the map you can go at fast speed even before you see the note.

Now, I don't know how people do to complete maps with a rating of 30 or more, already with 12 it costs me a lot, and it's worse when I see the first 50 of the global ranking that have completed the map at x2.0 speed.

I will make some corrections to Mika's post, there is almost no memorization involved with higher rated files unless it is a SV file (songs that have varying speeds) to an extent. Higher difficulty songs require greater reading capabilities and technique, combined with the assistance of higher scroll speeds it makes it "easier" for players. But generally speaking, the more experienced you are at the game the higher your scroll speed would be, however it comes down to personal preference in the end.

Also to note, physical capabilities and reaction do not impact your ability to play songs as much as you think. FYI I pretty much a very average reaction time and have a pretty average physical build. I play with a scroll speed of 30-30.5 on files around a 35 rating.

It's not necessary to memorize anything if you know how to play but I meant it in two ways. On the one hand as if it were a cache memory. I'm adapted to always looking at the top of the screen so I store the notes that I see "in what would be the cache" and then later I press the keys as I have memorized, although it's too short to say memorize, that's why it would be more correct to say "cache" (?). On the other hand, memorizing the position of each note on the map helps in the long run to increase reaction speed by knowing what will come next.

My reaction time is about 200ms, and yes, I have trouble pressing the keys and it has happened since I play Quaver, even though I had not played music games for a year. My problem is that before I played on a laptop, the keyboard of a laptop is light, by touching the keys you can write and now I use a "mechanical" keyboard that requires a lot of pressure.

Apart, DJMAX (sorry if I use this game for everything, but I spent more than 10 years playing it, bought in PlayAsia for PSP) the DJMAX game has a linear learning and also the notes are placed consciously to make it easier , KSM is created all by the community but the map editor has its limitations so it doesn't let you do something complex, so in both games I reach speeds of 20 - 25 KPS, in Quaver the map editor doesn't limit you (well, yes, now you can't do very small LNs), apart from that the rating drops significantly even if you do a Perfect on one note and the rest is Marv. I try to get two achievements (100% and 15 Rating) but 100% is impossible because I always do a few perfects, and the rating despite being very fast and not missing any notes, I do a precision below Marv having more Perfects and Greats and some Goods and Okeys which cause the rating to drop a lot.

Quaver is very different from what I usually play. Nor do I understand the difficulty, I think I read that they were going to fix it. Since there are maps with a rating of 9 that are easy and I achieve an accuracy of >95% and other maps with rating 4 ~ 5 that I don't even reach half of the map. For example, I was testing the map editor, I only did a few seconds of the map but the game already said a rating of 11, however adding a note at the end already lowered the rating to 0.7.
yeah it makes it almost seem like the window for higher accuracy larger since the notes can be in a wider area while still being a perfect score
