Gas Masks?

So the little tutorial window keeps telling me that my soldiers are dying to gas and that I need to by Gas Masks from the CERC in order to go into those zones. Yet, there is no option anywhere to buy gas masks and the game basically becomes unplayable once the gas zones start forming. Can anyone point me in the right direction about how to combat this?

I don't think they're actually in game yet, and logically the scientists are in full biohazard 4 suits so they should be completely immune - but they aren't. The way you get around the gas towers is to either hit and run them with a sparrow full of rocket launchers or outrange them with artillery. You could probably also load a transport vehicle with scientist flamethrowers and bumrush it Company of Heroes 2 style.

They are passive and soldiers put them on and off when needed when you enter "gas zones" that's the timers that appear till they ruin out of oxygen and die from the infection.

You need to get in and out and plan your exposure to min/max oxygen tanks for your men

Lol yeah I discovered that one yesterday, lots of micromanagement in lots of parts of this game I just wish we had an in game encyclopedia. Lots of my questions have been answered through you going through the forums and commenting on the game.
