Hi,

At the moment non-vr support isn't being considered, since the immersion and playstyle afforded by the VR medium is a core part of what makes Last Labyrinth unique.

Honestly it seems like it'd be trivial to mod the game for mouse support. The only mandatory actions to complete the game are looking around, nodding/shaking your head, and activating the laser pointer.

What a wasted potential. I just found this game on Youtube and I would love to play it, but since I don't have a VR headset, I can't play it. A vast majority of Steam gamers don't have VR either (according to Steam's most recent survey, 1% of gamers have a VR headset). Very smart of you, developers. I agree with the dude above me, adding mouse support seems trivial.

Why not add a warning that says VR makes for a better experience instead.
Also the guidelines on your website regarding videos and licensing is pointless and stupid. It seems like unnecessary restrictions only exist in Japan.

No. You need to get VR. This is a whole new genre of game and it wouldn't work outside of VR.

Nonsense. Beat Saber needs VR, more exactly 3D-angular-positional controls, but this game has nothing that would not work with a regular mouse/keyboard or gamepad setting.

That is not true. Try it and see. Index is free for a two week trial. You can pick up a second hand Vive for about £150.

Now the predictable "it's sooooooooo cheap" argument LMAO
I'd have to upgrade my rig first as well, also won't touch second-hand on such devices.

But the main show-stopper is getting motion sick extremely quickly. I have a hard enough time with 3D on a regular monitor, I don't want to spend hundreds to have to puke after 5-minutes in VR.

So then please explain what is so uniquely necessary in this game for VR.

You DON'T need to upgrade your rig. I ran VR on a 1050 system without an issue. It'll even work on the 9xx systems. If you are running a modern system, you'll be fine.

You WON'T get motion sick. At least after the first 5 - 10 hours. Start out with this, it will not give you any sickness. Then move on to something more intensive until you get used to it.

There is loads of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ knocking around about VR.

Lol. Ok. Virtual reality causes YOU lasting sickness (and not the rest of us). Staying away from it would be prudent (for you). We'll be waving from somewhere in the future.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I think we've uncovered a troll.

I see a fellow Miku. ^-^ Yes, some people experience nausea when using VR at first. Almost everyone gets over it with more exposure, though. At the beginning you can play games that use teleport locomotion or games like this one which don't have any locomotion until you get acclimated. It's not really a big deal, just something some people have to get used to.

One thing some people without VR have trouble understanding is that devs already know that the vast majority of people don't have VR. Devs working in VR would have had to already come to terms with that or they wouldn't have decided to make a VR game in the first place. They're willing to make a sacrifice and make a VR-exclusive game to improve the VR landscape and make buying a headset more enticing. It's not always about whether or not the game could work on a flat screen. It's worthy of respect to support VR to that extent and when you do get around to owning a headset, the game will still be here so there's nothing to worry about.

Back on topic, I just played this game today and see zero reasons it wasn't released with non-VR support. Honestly, the game feels like it was originally a flat screen game they threw on basic VR controls.

Given it's brutal cinematics with how you get killed, this would have become a cult classic.
