I was referring to the introduction of the infester. It should be more of a real threat.
Thanks for the prompt response
IMO, getting infected with a spacesuit on probably boils down to getting it on your suit and getting exposed when taking the suit off.
This opens up some possibilities for tech. Upgrades to airlocks or spacesuits. Maybe even air filtration systems for the ship that specialize in diminishing spore eruption spread?
But also what the OP is referring to.. maybe it would be nice to have more of an active threat sometimes, perhaps with advanced aliens on the outside. Bigger pods that will create a nasty infection ASAP.
I really love the new bot enemies dropping in via their drop pods. I'm hoping I land in a system with a ton of them, multiple drop pods.. It's a nice fast way to experience a boarding action on your ship, which is always exciting. :)
Should only get it once per infestation..
The aliens we encounter here are able to life and thrive in open space... So there is a high chance the spores they produce are so resilient and/or small, that they are either able to just move through the spacesuit on a microscopic level or are maybe even eating through the suits fabric on that scale without causing an alarm or measurable damage.
On the other hand it is scientific known that spores in general are very resilient in wide ranges of temperature, radiation and pressure so the delayed infection after removing the suit should not be dismissed.
