squad has assault rifles, the bot explodes
energy weapons, and it explodes
and yeah, I checked to make sure they weren't getting recycled by default.
On a "robot infested" ship one of my crew "accidently" build up a rouge bot recharge station out of the stacked scrapboxes which looked pretty good and I hope to see more of that stuff soon.
As far as I know it is a rare drop so you will have to kill quite a few chimps to get the research done. The dropchance is not affected by the explosion so keep on going.
It is fixed in the experimental branch but there is now another issue with the experimental build, the rogue bot can invade the player ship and create their environment in there. =)
Need to fix that and then release to main branch.
I had same.. passed one galaxy, half way to next before I got them collected. I think "drop rate" is quite low. Did not see any significance depending which weapons to use, there probably is some, but I dont bother to fool around with weak weaps and bots.
