First Aid Kit?
How about adding some consumeable item that can be used to stabilyze a character from bleeding out before they can be transferred to a clinic bed?
I lost some pirate prisoners because I couldn't transfer them to my ship fast enough and they didn't surrender until they were nearly dead.

+1 to this, with a added description, like emergency medical kit/tourniquet that can be added to the existing medical kit, OR as a new item entirely that consumes the medical kit to make the emergency kit/tourniquet

Yes this is very much needed.

The medical system, as it works now, makes for some tense and memorable episodes. But I agree -- there is much more that could be added.

I like the idea of a "first aid kit" of some kind, as you describe it. Maybe it'd be a hemostatic bandage / injection, which stops bleeding for a few hours and keeps a wound from regressing, but carries the risk of blood clots. Or even amputation of limbs -- wouldn't that be great, to eventually discover augmentation for arms and legs?
If anything, need emergency patch kit for suits FIRST. Game is so ridiculous when a crew member gets bitten but doesn't lose any oxygen...

Yes is necesary, when I saw the medical kits I thought that It were for the crew, not only for storage or the medical bed.

+1 .. *but* have 2 versions: the basic kit that works without spacesuits, and an advanced kit that works on spacesuits, but it doesn't work nearly as well. And both should work on surrendered crew.

If I'm on top of getting wounded crew out of a ship ASAP (boarding operations mainly but also derelicts), I rarely lose crew. But it sure is nerve-wracking. :)

Oh man, I like this idea. In real life, a space suit would make it hard to inject / administer drugs to a person the typical way, so the suit should provide some interface. That could technically be done by either adding a new (advanced) type of medical kit to the inventory, or a research upgrade to the suits.

Yeah. Maybe spacesuit tech--armored spacesuits, trauma care, more oxygen, exoskeleton,, etc.? Any of these require upgrades to spacesuit lockers.. an extra tech block, metal, fabric, etc.

We already have spacesuits capable to instantly seal any combat damage :) They're already advanced way above simple build-in injection tool.

to OP: +1 for med kit that allow us to temporary stop bleeding.
