Space Haven

Space Haven

Any good mods
I have checked the mods section, but it kinda felt uninteresting and mostly filled with mods to decreaae game dificulty, like cheats, a lot of cheats for noobs and lazy players (e. G. Soees buffs for various items, mega effective facilities, etc....).

Are there any mods that you find lore-friendly, not cheaty or abusive of the game flaws, that adds new possibilities or improves parts of the game to be more realistic, or completes unfinished stuff in the game, and similar stuff?

Anyone care to share his experience /opinion?

I do not use mods for any games. I find it simply too risky.
(Especially now that in a few games there were mod abuses. I actually thought mod abuse will happen earlier.:P)
I think it will take a bit before the more serious modders will get going.
I don't mind mods, well not since i played Stranded Alien Dawn, where mod use was made pretty simple. Great for a computer simpleton like me. And the majority of the mods work oke except a few that may require an update.
And since both games are singleplayer games, who cares if you use mods to make the game more challenging or more breezy ?
agreed, too early. they will come. station auto-trader is a pretty complex one, and crew chatter (if you want that) is kinda neat for immersion. but you should check workshop every few days or weekly; it'll pick up speed in a few weeks/months I'm fairly confident. the learning curve being what it is, uphill.

I also dont play with mods, but Space Haven has a flaw that it takes only two sectors for me to fully develope and build and that leavel like 99% of game with nothing to do then to fly arround and accumulate even more resources, so some serious mods to add stuff like: Diplomacy, warfare, economy, anykind of real dependencies so that actions have consequences - that could add a new layer of dificulty and something to be on a lookoout and not just dominate everything everywhere... So that is kind of the only thing. Because currently the most enjoyable is the survival start, and then its only about buying fuel and flying permanently - ignoring everything till the final planet is reached. Here camed the exodus fleet - which became the anchor and slows everything down, but at least its something, BUT then again its repetitive, not much variability there when you do it once.

Restrict your recruitment policy. And try now:P

Played a lot with only 2 people crew and it makes the game too awfully easy, especialy since I didnt even cared about research that much as with such low operation costs, waste was no issue.

No offence, but I think you're being a little paranoid. I've been using mods in games for more than 20 years, and I have never once had any problem with them in terms of malicious intent. The vast, vast majority of mods are nothing more than original game files with a few tweaks, not the kind of files that can contain viruses, trojans, or whatever else.

All you need to do to minimise the risk is ensure you get your mods from reputable places. Also don't run mod installers, exes, bat files etc unless you trust the source. Simple.

On topic, there are a lot more mods available for this game on Nexus Mods, because they've been posted there since before mod support was officially endorsed by the devs. You'll have to manually install them rather than just hitting a subscribe button, but most of them should work fine unless they're outdated. I expect many will find there way onto the workshop in time.
:/ game feels a bit... lacking. i hope we get a billion great mods but not sure
game is too lacking to justify modding, thats how I feel at least

Their concern is probably with a recent problem encountered by many with a legitimate source that had it's mod injected and everyone got it. You'd have to do a google search, but that was the first (or one of the very few) times I've heard of it happening the legit way.

Once or twice on Mobile devices I have also seen. I think steam even had it happen once.

While I agree, a bit paranoid. It does happen. I don't mod personally but I am real old school. Like .wads and older even. lol. I just enjoy games raw like it should be.

Actually there was a steam game that had its whole workshop removed. It was an injection and spread attack.
At another game there mods that contained ransomware. (Mod author basicly locked certain folders of the downloaders unless the payed for his mods.) This was also done via injection, a python script was hidden among the java or lua files. I actually own this game, also they had just in the past 3 months at least 2 or 3 security updates, because of certain vulnerabilities that was available via mods. And there are a few others i can tell about, and there are probably quite a few not yet discovered. With publishers and developers liability and all these things are clear as sky. With mods? Not so much. A mod maker can make their mods, using fake steam ID from a burner mail and burner phone. Good luck catching them thereafter. (The multicheaters, trade farmers etc already show there are ways and are inventing new ways.)

Regarding mobile games and mobile applications. Actually you cannot be sure, as if i recall well only a few years ago was discovered a malicious practice where someone uploaded their application kept it going for years (i think 2.5 or 3 years) and after that once it spread enough they injected the next patch with malicious code. Until then the updates were not even checked on google play (or whatever the hell the name of their store is, i dont download any applications for phone:P).
I am prolly the only one or one of the few that still does transfer payment using paper:P
I did not need the mansplaining lol. I was being general about the information as it is old info, I read once or twice at most. And when you do all the legwork, that is fine. :)

There are far more attacks done in the buisness end that I have dealth with in the last 27 years. So again I'll state, it's possible to do quite a bit and steam/epic along with all gaming platforms will never be immune.

So here and there will pop-up problematic games and content for said games. Most folks shouldn't be worried if they are buying games from companies that have your normal every day rep.

Smart Devices are quite different, the repositories and other things can get hijacked and interjected too.

It is what it is.

Did blud just unironically say mansplaining 💀💀💀
Absolute insane
Well he went with a more indepth version of what i said. So that is going to be mansplaining anyway you want to understand it in our industry. :_RIP_:

The underlying conveyed point was already made also. Derp harder? Your input also changes nothing. So why try? LOL
