Siren worlds...
How do you protect against the effects of these? Does shielding protect? I assume the effect wears off after a while?

Thanks in advance for any additional information...

Currently there is no protection against it. But the effect wears off, and it affects crewmembers differently. You can check how long the effects will last on the conditions tab of the crewmembers panel.
Be careful, some can have murderous and destructive nervous brakedowns. If someone is starting fires and destroys everything, find someone who is not affected by the world, and draft them. Put them in a spacesuit and follow the destructive crewmember so you can fix the fires.

Hopefully we will get a research that allows constructing a device that is like a gellar field devices in wh40k. Or an additional hull coating.

Just don't spend too long there.
The effect is a debuff, but it stacks and can do so many times!
So basically the longer you stay there the longer the effect will last.

once your big enough with lots of miners and shuttles you can get in mine and search a ship and get out before it turns someone crazy. takes precision

Yeah but still it is terrible:(
Basicly all you need is just have one guy get the destroy everything and he or she 'll burn half your ship.

it could be made an implant. we also need an implant to protect against interstellar sick

It is the best zone when you trap a NPC ship and watch them burn(becareful yourself too)

the last time i played SH and a crew member had a mental breakdown, they burned up half the ship. the best way to deal with it is by staying away from siren worlds or limit the amount of time your ship remains in orbit.

I thing it a bit dull when from a gameplay point of view an event occurs where there is no countermeasure. It's waiting and mitigating the damage.

those worlds you have to come in quickly serch any ships or mine and leave. sometimes you need to come back a few times like the one time i had 3 or 4 ships there

If I notice its a Siren world I just move on I dont even bother trying to get the stuff from the system its just not worth it. Its like spore explosion too much effort for too little reward.

Don't stick around. The mental debuff hits too hard and too fast. Just jump away and don't look back.
