First:
Your people crouch down, so in order to shoot they first need to stand up.
-> slightly lower rate of fire, in my experience. (It is not necessary true but it feels like it. Due to to the stand up, fire, crouch, fill up gauge for action, stand up, fire, crouch fill up gauge for fire action...rinse repeat.)
-> while they are behind the barricade, aka crouched, they are less likely to be hit.
So it offers some protection. However barricades and most stuff you usually use as barricades, can be destroyed fast.
So depends. In later stages those one or two fires that the barricades block, can actually mean victory or defense, as laser weapons are accurate and deal a lot of damage.
So Zest is more important as Zest =HP.
So i meant the crouching behind barriers. I was not clear on that sorry.
Yes when there is nothing before them they can shoot normally. I imagine it adds a miniscule to accuracy. 5-10% max without barriers.
So if you open doors when boarding, always have everyone crouch first.
they take a lot more punishment before breaking.
I also like the shuttle bay when there is no shuttle They offer less coverage though and the angles are bad.
I found out that is helps.
I don’t think Crouching increase evasion in the open or if it does it is marginal. You’ll still be a free target especially in narrow spaces
