Space Haven

Is there any point in being enemies with a faction?
If I am friendly with a faction they don't attack, which is great for surviving the game, but the missions from opposing factions don't really give much in return for making a mortal enemy who will hound you across space and destroy you utterly given half a chance.

On the other hand, not accepting those missions that will piss off another faction removes many of the potentially more interesting mission types from consideration, as any attempts at doing them will result in the entire faction hating my guts. There ought to be some clandestine ways to carry out the missions (without relying on sheer luck or circumstance) that don't result in all-out war with the faction, but still carry a risk of severely annoying the faction if they find out about it.

Take the capture missions for example - perhaps a cunning method could be to sneak aboard their ship, maybe in disguise or using a cloaking device, or just slaughtering everyone aboard before a countdown expires (someone gets to the operations console to send a distress call, have to be gone before other ships arrive). Maybe sabotage their engines from the outside (using just a jetpac to get there) and occupy the rest of the crew while you kidnap the target and bundle them into the airlock to escape.

free stuff, else it's more of a nuisance.
Mountains of free stuff. The ability to stress test your ship designs. The thrill of victory.

Take your pick.
When you say 'free stuff', they surely don't just hand over stuff, you have to earn it by boarding or destroying enemy ships, and for that trouble I'd maybe get a couple of infra and / or tech blocks, which I've surely already got by the time I'm able to take on a big pirate ship (and win). Just doesn't seem worth it. Yes, I can strip the enemy ship, but that's nothing much to do with the missions that would try to entice me to become enemies with a faction, I could do that of my own volition.

Thrill of victory - maybe, but even that would get tiresome after a while. Mission rewards should be appropriate for the risk and resources required to take on the mission, and they should be something unique or very rare, useful, and / or cool, or just maybe it will be something one can't buy or find in the game universe via any other means (e.g. a uniquely skilled crew member joins my ship, or a new blueprint of some kind).

I just don't see the point in becoming enemies when there's nothing new or interesting to be gained from it, the rewards even from looting can be gained peacefully.
So the ghist of this is that you want higher mission rewards and i can agree with that, currently missions seem only to be there so you have something to do when bored

killing big ship get a lot of stuff:4-10 unit of food,10+ gun,all dead body =1.5 water, slave trader....
I strongly against strip the ship, unless you need a lot of time recover.
It take less time then doing an mission.

anyone know how to increase the trade volume.....I got too much gun pile on my ship

On Brutal I make enemies with everyone, because trade and mission rewards are absolute trash.

Supplies a steady stream of good crew members, compost from the bad ones, and get piles of materials from their ship. All for a few minutes of crouching behind cover with some guns, and getting your people to focus fire on one target at a time.

Its really only the first few ships that are difficult, since you only have 3 crew with handguns. Then once you get some cultist, civilian, or small pirate ships worth of resouces you can research SMGs and Body Armor. Then you'll be mercing on even the military alliance space stations.

Dunno am doing fine with just the three faction enemies, i still have a lot of combat, still get enough stuff, and i can trade all the excess away for money with factions. Not to mention the random encounters in the hyperlane help a lot with trade and getting rid of refugees:D

(also your ship reminds me of a sledge:D)

Should see the war crimes I commit in Rimworld. Prisons that use furnaces to give rioters heat stroke (so I don't need guards), turn people I have no intention of recruiting into animal feed.

My worst in Rimworld was to....skin everyone, because one of them tribes needed about 660 human leather...
Took a while till folks lost those mood maluses:D

I usually stay on the cooperative side, is why i dont play multiplayer on any game:)
