Pirate hideout?
I have a mission to find a pirate base or something it tells me the solar system where it is located but not the exact location, i got there, explored the whole system, destroyed every pirate ship i could find in that system, waited a couple of weeks inside the one shady nebular region in there but still no pirate base, any hints?

If everything's working right, it should be obvious. The last time I took a mission like that, the pirate base was huge. You couldn't miss it. It's definitely the right system?

Well, in that case, I think it's buggy, yes, it's definitely the system, but I have to say that I accepted this mission a while ago (it has no time limit) and I did a lot of other missions before I got to this one.

I recently got one of those missions too. After searching the marked system ( no base) I re-read the mission description & it says something about the target being in the marked system or a nearby satellite system. So I checked the star map & there's another lane away from the system, a short lane that doesn't trigger a hypersleep warning.

The base was in that smaller "satellite" system.

So the marker doesn't necessarily mean it's in that exact system, but "thereabouts", somewhere in that vicinity.

Which does make a bit of sense. why would the military or whoever send you to look for something if they already knew where it was? They only have a vague idea where it is.

You have to search the whole star system cluster which can consist of several star systems. It's not very obvious, but when you zoom out you will only see the hyperlanes between the clusters, when zoomed in you will also see the slightly smaller/shorter lanes between star systems within a cluster.

I think they should make the different lanes more distinguished, by color maybe.

Was about to say that:) The remember might be additional non interstellar travel reachable systems nearby.
