Bedroom size?
Should i be building individual bedrooms? noise reduction? Or a big barracks with entertainment in it? The only things i can find are from years ago.

I build 80% single occupancy bed rooms with a nightstand, and a couple double bed rooms for crew with "lovers" relationship to bunk together.

the open bay barracks layout is not great for morale

for maximum sleep comfort single bed rooms, each with a night table on top. entertainment is bad for sleep. you have a switch bottom right where you can see what influence what status (work/freetime/sleep) and freetime dont mingles well with sleeptime...
even a double bed can lessen sleep confort compared to single beds when both levels are used at the same time.

You do have to build away from manufacturing and other loud devices. The walls aren't sound proofed.

The hallway layout works well when space is an issue.

I don't think you can beat the amount of space a bunkroom like this saves.

Technically you could potentially incorporate sleeping quarters wherever there's a hallway. I think something like this still counts as private.

Looks neat! I like the way you section off your ship. I always try to squeeze too much into the same space, and it just causes problems.

Since you have no corridor and crew members need to pass through the bedrooms of other's won't there be much "interuppted privacy" during sleep?

I always build a corridor and small bedrooms, often on each side of the corridor, so people can access their own rooms without disturbing anyone. I still use bunkbeds though, to safe some space.

It really should interrupt their privacy, but it doesn't. Maybe partly because there really isn't any traffic going through there. I'd like to see what happens when I do something like that in an active hallway.
