Sickness from aliens
my dudes have started coughing and having seizures, and eventually dying. I have medical beds, medical packs, and IV units ready, but the sickness doesn't go away. Is there a cure?

Update: I thought this was new with alpha 17. I see it’s been going on since 2020, LoL! I’ve got many hours in this game and never encountered it until now.

So, is quarantining sick crew still the way to go? Because I tried, not sure I did it right but, I tried and crew member had seizeures multiple times in a row until death.

Find some other ship that's offering medical services and make the spreading of the illness their problem.

what i do is when i get a guy who is hanging with the Aliens and wants to join my crew as soon as he gets back to my ship i draft him and send him right to a medical bed. he will stay there for a while. when he gets up and he still has that green icon on him i do it again until that green icon is gone.
works every time for me. just make sure you have IVs and Medical supplies.

So, if what I am hearing, the disease is coming from a crew I rescued? I thought it was from the new Splotches of Alien goo that drop on my ship from time to time and start growing. I try to get a dude to kill the ASAP. But that's where I thought it was coming from, like when the clean up the mess afterward.

Both are true. It has multiple sources now.

Most effective way to make a quarantine room for the infected, is a relatively small room near the medical bay. Assign the bed or beds to the infected and put them on sleep duty, for the entire day, once in the bed lock the room, so they don't get out, even if the ship goes to battle stations. Make sure the room has vents for oxygen to get in and the room is heated, Place an airscrubber, one inside the room and one next to the vent outside the room, hopefully, that will suck up the spores and keep the crew from further infection. After 1 full days schedule is complete, they should be okay, and you can let them out again, back to their work duties.
Until the devs, come up with a better solution, this the best the player can hope for, to keep the crew from becoming infected, short of stranding, or outright shooting the infected individual.

Goodluck. :)

There is an initial symptom of crew feeling a minor sickness. The advanced disease has no symptoms, then they explode.

I dunno if it's possible to actually treat the disease so it won't explode. I've had crew exposed to spores who didn't get infected, and I've also tried forcing them into medical treatment to see if it helps. It's not really clear because so much of the symptoms are hidden and there's no medical station to reveal them.

True, but i imagine they have not done this to keep players guessing whether someone is infected or not. Of course it would be nice to have a way to treat/detect the problem and cure it, but then that make this current mechanic of the situation pointless of having it in the game. So I guess were stuck with it for the time being.

The "draft and put in medical bed until it goes away" method seems to work, but requires you to keep a close eye on them. I lock the door to the sick bay, and when the little icon for Unreachable Job pops up, I unlock so dudes can bring in meds and treat, then relock after.

You would think that after enough of these (x infections per dude), they'd become immune, or doctors would get better at treating it.

Maybe add Personal Protection Equipment (hazmat suits, gas masks, or something), quarantine rules, like battle stations...idk

From my experience you'll want to ensure that their health is at maximum. When they have a seizure their health may drop to like 5%. If they have less health they may die. It may have some RNG to it but I'm not sure. Send them to the medical bed. If you have lots of people with this then it'll be harder to manage. Try not to have anyone around them while they're having the seizure or it might spread.
