Heat spike moving Energium generator
If I relocate, or in the default location section off with walls my energium generator it starts overhearing the room its in like crazy.

Initial layout has a thermal reg 4 tiles away. Temp steady at 22 deg.

Layout 1 I put adjacent wall flush along side the generator, wall mounted thermal reg touching the generator. Room has a door with a vent and 2 squares of free space for crew movement (4x2). Inital temp 22 deg. Once walls and door are up, spikes to 60 deg+. Thermal regs seem to do nothin.

Layout 2 I moved the generator into my big rear compartment with all my hyper drives and industrial plant behind an airlock. Plenty of space in the whole compartment (12x20), and nothing but 2-3 thermal regs within 4 tiles of the generator . Inital temp 22 deg. Once Generator is in, temp of entire rear compartment spikes up to 60+ deg. Shifting thermal regs closer makes no difference.

What am I missing thats causing the temp to spike?

External temperature, most likely.
Ive tested with save scumming multiple different secotrs/maps - temp stays rock solid 22 untill i mess with the generator, then i immediately see on the heat map the temperature risiong centred on that generator.
If you say so. Generators only generate more heat when they are under load.
biggest generator in its own room needs 2 thermos right beside it when it goes betwen around half power up to full, or you get an oven of a room. this things ARE heaters, like all big industry installations.
Note that when you move or build a new generator, it will run at 100% for about two in game days while it refills its 50k backup power storage. Afterwards it should return to standard power usage.
Generators make heat when they're busy.
Place 2 thermal regulators next to them.

Also beware of the local sector temperature. Being close to a big blue sun will cook one side of the ship.

Bingo this explains the spike when moving it. Still confused about whats happening when walling it off. Anyway enough to be workable for now - cheers!
