How to get prisoner to use medical bed

I have a prisoner with a chronic condition. The medical bed is set to accept prisoners, and is within the prison area, but the prisoner will not use the bed.

As long as the medical bed is set to accept prisoners it should work, if the prisoner has a need to use the medical bed.

It was a chronic wound. I ended up sending them to use the medical services on another ship, since they wouldn't use mine.

Hi, I have the same issue.
I asked to follow me a prisoner in front of a medical bed. The message says "I am bleeding. I need a medical bed", but the prisoner keeps the hands up and doesn't use the medical bed.

EDIT: I reloaded the game and tried one thing. Can you check @aksel_bugbyte if you have to create the prison area in order to allow the prisoner to use the medical bed? I don't mean to set the medical bed inside the prison area. But it seems to me that the prisoner started using the medical bed only after I defined a prisoner area in a totally different part of the ship
