Here's a new crew trick

My crewmen did something different to me last night-they stopped working on the derelict and just floated out into space. They died, of course. Three crewmen committed suicide, I guess, but they didn't have the suicide trait. I check for that trait and pass on crew with it.

Why did they float off into space, do you suppose? A bug? The AI?

Pathfinding bug most likely, if you can replicate it with loading a save then send in a bug report!

I saw one type of pathing bug. I built a wall on the corner of the ship, and the crew chose to build it from outside. Unfortunately it was a large ship, and the airlock was on the opposite side. It didn't go well.

by any chance a black monolith fly by? or the crewmen sayed anything like "sleep well HAL, i going on a trip" ? :)

No, didnt save it. I was disgusted with their suicides and quit that game without a save. Frankly, Im losing my enthusiasm for the game.

Already explained it was not suicides, rather a pathfinding bug. Shame there because we would like to find these situations and fix the bug.

Were any parts of the hull being dismantled? I noticed that crew are REALLY bad at removing hull blocks. They like to break down walls, carve open the hull in dumb ways and tend to get themselves stranded.

Yes! That was happening. It was a derelict ship and I was salvaging all that I could get to build another ship.
