do not use "venting" as it cause absurd amount of damage and much more destructive then fire.
For the kitchen and other living areas, its best to have a spacesuit locker near by. Once the temperature in a room gets too hot, your people will be unable to put the fire out without protection. Having a suit locker near by gives them access to that protection and allows them to fight the fire faster.
The flame symbol is not a fire rating. It simply indicates how much heat a machine will generate. Granted, excessive heat can cause fires, so there is a slight related effect. However that effect can be completely avoided by using thermal regulators properly.
That's the way to do it.
<insert facepalming burned ships to figure that out>
ever if entire area got fire, just waiting some time will solve issue without your interaction
suits have significant penalty on production speed and incident rate, also cause "stamina" damage and decrease mood, as long as there are no methods to "apply" spacer perk or increase "zest" of spacers, suit doors are garbage.
So my solution was to put two Thermal Regular in my production area and set them to 15°C. Haven't had any fire in production area for 300+ days.
final boolean startFire = Game.random.nextFloat() < 0.1f;
if (startFire) {
as you can see ambient temperature is not "factor" for fire at all
