Lack of resources
I love the game. But how to get enough resources? Do I have to build a very basic ship then go around to get them by jumping to other system?

yes. :steamhappy:

Move forward at a suitable pace, yep. Focusing on the blue objective notifications first will guide you to a hyperspace capable spaceship, which is the main goal in the beginning as that will alow for plenty of opportunities to find more resources.

If you have troubles try the peaceful or builder difficulty, you can even edit the game parameters in the difficulty selection screen to give yourself more start resources!

If you start at the mining base don't forget that once you jump out of the starting system, you can return back to the mining base to use its facilities, and then you can abandon the base and strip it it down for more resources. This is what I did in my current run and it's more than enough to get your ship fleshed out nicely early on.

i am on hardest diff , first playtrough never used mining station reclaiming abuse and i am litteraly crumbling on resources , there is just a lack of technoblocks for the few first jumps , you need to manage a little bit at start but really for now there is 0 difficulty or lack of ressoureces in this game and i hope things will be tuned for better chalenge atleast on hard difficultys

For tech blocks, ya kinda need to build and deconstruct machines as needed at first. If the machine is fully repaired, you get back your materials. Doing that you can make batches of stuff and then produce tech blocks in small numbers.

having same issue. progressiopn being blocked due to an extreme lack of tech blocks.
ive stripped, recycled, dismanltled... everything.

Depend what you mean by progression. As Thog said, you could simply dismantle your own machinery to build another one as the need arise. For the rest, you are supposed not to have enough, that's the little this game has in the survival aspect at the moment. Trade, salvage and building up what you need is where you'll eventually get everything you require.
Gonzo Jun 12, 2020 @ 9:03pm
which i have done. i still do not have enough.
it is extremely silly that the machine to make Tehc blocks require tech blocks.

infact. nearly everything requires tech blocks. yet rarely traders sell them and recycler barely produces anything at all.

You do not get tech blocks from the recycler. Tech and power blocks are intended to be rare, this is why you can not recycle them. They sit at the very top of the manufacturing tree for a reason, as a way of slowing progress and forcing you to make hard choices as you expand and grow.

That said you can often find tech and power blocks on derelicts, not as salvage, but as loot. You can also trade for sub-components, like optronic components. Then you can get tech blocks by just getting an advanced assembler. Failing that, electronic components are easy to get, can be gained by recycling salvage and can be turned into optronic components with just a chemical refinery for the chemicals and an optronics fabricator. If you cant afford the tech blocks to make both, make one at a time. Deconstructing the previous machine when it is no longer needed.

so whats the point of recycler then?
Wantoomany Jun 12, 2020 @ 9:55pm
For the more basic blocks, the recycler can turn scrap into infra, soft, and hull blocks. You will ultimately use more of those then you will use tech or power blocks.

well i dont need basic blocks.... i need tech blocks to build tech blocks.

I find it a little bit funny to see everybody complain about not having enough tech blocks. For me the real problem was energy block, and for a very long time.

But as it already been said above, both are meant to be a hard to get commodity.

I found the block to making tech blocks was infra blocks early game. Breaking down a bench refunds the components used the build the bench but not the tools and tools are created from infra blocks.

To build tech blocks all you need to do is build a bunch of the components and keep about 5-8 tech blocks handy.

Assuming you start in the mining base, make a bunch of microprocessors, and on your ship build a chemical refinery and process all the raw chemicals into chemicals. You probably only need like 20 but it's not like raw chemicals are used for anything else.

Once that is done, disassemble the chemical refinery to get the blocks and make an Optronics Fabricator. Using the chemicals and the microprocessor you can build a bunch of Optronics Components using Microprocessors and Chemicals. Disassemble the bench.

Make the Advanced Assembler and you can build tech blocks from the Optronics Components and Infrablocks.

If you do this Energy Blocks will be what slow you down, as this takes time and time is energy rods and water used up.

Hope this helps!

So build an advanced assembler. The game is a puzzle. You have to do certain things. That's just how it is.
