Unreachable areas
I built a hyper drive up against a wall and the stability module directly in front of it. Now I got this annoying message, unreachable areas. Can I just ignore it?

Yes. I wish you could make the game stop telling you that you have unreachable areas. I don't care a single tile in my ship is unreachable. Why can't I click out of these messages?

It's important to have the ship clear of them. The game is tile-based, meaning an object in a tile will block if it is of a blocking type.

Having an unreachable area can easily create situations where a hatch to a facility cannot be reached by crew members, like the hyperdrive.

Could we please get an option to turn them off, though please? I sometimes make areas unreachable on purpose as they just hold things that don't need maintenance and maybe a power console.
yup its silly.

^This, I always start the game on medium and don't like to waste space.

Agreed, some areas don't need to be reached. Give us an ignore button on a per tile basis please.

If you fill the unreachable tiles with wall before closing them in there will be no messages.
If no one needs to go there they don't need to be open do they?

In some games heat or airflow requires not being blocked (not sure if anything other that wall tiles does it in Space haven)

This would mean an unreachable tile could increase in temperature, moisture content or gas level which in turn would cause consequences if your equipment took into consideration optimal temperature/moisture levels.

To my knowledge such thing is not implemented (yet?)

I guess I'd air caution on ship designs based upon future proofing.

If you are hit by a solar flare, this thing will catch fire, require repair - but only be reachable after you moved the thing away.
Any tile could get a hole from micro-meteroids.

That is why no unreachable tile is good idea.

the area of the hyperdrive you're blocking is an access point, that's why the game cares.

You get the error when any tile is blocked though. A lamp could be blocking the corner, but obviously there's no need to get behind the lamp if it needs to be accessed. Though if the hull were to breach in that specific corner...

Just put a wall section there to fill it in. It's definitely the best way to deal with inaccessible locations.

Still the only solution that works?

Then you get a hull breach and... how do you think your crew is going to repair it?
