Also: Why do crewman sit on stations that have no priority whatsoever. My shield guy sits on weapons while the weapons guy does nothing but standing around.
It might work better for you if you don't wait at the very last second to assign them to their duty and they have to walk the whole spaceship to get there.
Pirates arrive when my crew is sleeping and they start to demolish the ship.
Crew wakes up and instead of manning the shields and guns they have a nice chat in the kitchen.
Come on.
I take it that pausing the game then changing the work schedule from 'Free' to 'Work' for the current hour time slot isn't an option?
Your crew isn't supposed to shoot back if they're not drafted, and draft happens independantly of schedule.
"Red" color stations also worked all the time for me, with one exception. They finish their current move and once that's done, the ones that have been selected move to the station. How is this an issue, when you have 8 hours warning before pirates jump on you, I do not know. If you jump on them, then it's your fault for not using the red mode first.
Thanks.
Going to give that a try. Edit: Did the job. thanks.
Feedback to devs: A ' Red Alert' / 'Battle Stations' Button would be useful.
Its not as elegant as a single giant red alert button, but something similar exists. Each station has an alert setting. From blue, yellow, to red. If you set a station to red. The crew member assigned to that station will man that station without breaks or sleep until they literally drop from exhaustion.
