Rotate Map View
I can zoom in and out, pan in four directions, but I see no way to rotate my map view.
Is this a feature yet to be implemented?

Another here wanting the same.

i wish there will be more view perspective in game. also a little bit greedy:

Controller support.
More option in graphic, not lock on 60fps on ly ( 30fps and beyond)

My laptop with i7 7700, 16gb ram and quadro m1200 heat up quickly with the game. my issue maybe.

Yeah my i9 2080ti water cooled blows a bit when playing this game, but that is usual with these EA games. They are not optimised yet.

It's can be that in never going to be implemented. How easy to add it is depends on engine.

They said as much in tech support. Not likely to happen.

no rotate view?
is it written in BASIC?

No, it's have a save system.

This feature could have been really helpful, there have been some times when areas have been blocked by placed machinery where a rotation of the ship would have prevented it. Oh well. At least the interface tells you of dead zones in your design.

well, what about "rotate view" in GTA5?
probably i want camera upside down but there is no such option, wtf, GTA5 such crappy game!

or maybe GTA5 coded in basic?

there are no engine restrictions, there are DESIGN restrictions, to support rotations you must draw same sprite multiple times and this is obviously waste of resources and time, just to provide useless function nobody sane will ever use.

there is path view filter that can tell walled areas.

They have that environment sprites drawn at least 2 times (for symmetrical things) and 4 times for machinery and stuff. There is no DESIGN restriction to make it possible to turn map by 90 degrees step.

If there is restriction then it's technical one, since it's not some Unity Engine where you can't made "true" 2d game, the engine probably need to redraw every object when you turn map.
It's not like it's impossible to make it work, after all Project Hospital was in the similar situation. But it's require a good deal of work.

really?

what about hyperdrive, can you rotate it?
what about hull walls that do not have any internal texture?

there are no problems with telling renderer to render array of objects in other mode, or other order, or mirror stuff, or make it upside down, it's all about that in order to rotate view you must provide "other side" for all objects, and that "other side" may not exist because game uses sprites and not 3d models.

Okay, Engine is one thing you can't actually rotate. But it's require drawing of only one additiona spritel. Well, bed's probabably counts too but even I can draw the bed with pillow on the other side and I can't really draw ♥♥♥♥.

I would hazard a guess that another reason for the design limitation has to do with ship orientation. If you could rotate the map with no clear indication of what side forward was. It made would make building very confusing. Especially considering people have already been confused by it, on static maps, with engines that can't rotate.

Many games of this type do not allow rotation. It is likely the game engine. Rim World also does not have camera rotation.
