Friendly Reminder: BATTD is dead, go play BTD6 or 5.

Both of them are cheap and you can unlock all the content in BTD6 by just playing max 100-200 hours.

The gameplay in BATTD is very limitted, there is no Freeplay after finishing last round and you are basically forced to build same stuff on almost every map.

If you planning to play BATTD anyway, farm shards for Orange/Legendary(?) Orbs and hope for Orange Wand (sorry don't remember the name of it) drop which gives you chance of dropping Orbs in game by literally little touch on the MOABs (and the bigger ones). Equip on Fire Princess and build her always next to the bloons start. I don't remember exacly how many items or allies I have, but probably like 80% to 90%+ in like 160 hours in-game.

I was very lucky I guess and I didn't need to spent a single penny in-game shop. If you really like the game, buy on the sale pack of all heroes to unlock rest of the maps, but remember that last Update was in Dec. 10 2019, so yeah...

Just here to voice my opinion that this game is a disappointing mess, and more or less agree with everything JimboYCS has to say regarding gameplay.

After coming from BTD6, I played for a solid 30 hours (split mobile and Steam versions), and the impression I am left with is this game is entirely reliant on itemization. Items which are gated behind lootboxes, and item slots (in the form of character levels), which are gated behind (I cannot express this enough) *VERY* long grinds. Soul-sucking RNG-dependent grinds. I would argue more frustrating grinds than Old School RuneScape. It's either that or prepare to pony up substantial cash to get those item slots, because those levels get exponentially more expensive. This game made me feel gross because of how hard this game was pushing me to buy ♥♥♥♥. Don't get me started on the mobile version either, even after buying a small item it was still force-feeding me 20 second ads with tiny close buttons. I had to network-block the ads to stop them from interrupting me between each level. Oh, and it'll turn your phone into a space-heater significantly faster than even round 150+ in BTD6, we're talking before even round 40.

Item management in this game is a mess too. There's no filters for what stats you are looking to boost and there's no loadout system for creating alternate builds, which is especially useful considering there's a 'PvP' game mode with rulesets that will entirely change your itemization if you don't have your characters kitted how you want them at all times. I imagine this is most problematic in the early game when you have few powerful items and need to share them across different characters to get the job done. This in effect makes it annoying as all hell to experiment, especially when you factor in the game needs a brief loading screen every time you go to your item list.

Conceptually, I love this game, but the egregious "micro"-transactions (seriously, some of this ♥♥♥♥ costs more than lunch for me and my partner) and multitude of missing standard quality-of-life features in this game add up to a game not worth playing past the novelty factor. That said, Bloons TD 6 is a down right treat with basically none of the above-listed problems. BTD6 is often cheaper than a single character pack, and holy heck is it worth it.

I like dthe AdventureTime aspect more then i like the 'Bloons' aspect.
I doubt im alone in this.. Besides~ The MP section of this game was crappycrap.
Just see who can do what the best in whatever amount of rounds you can last seemed lame to me..
I miss this show esp before it went full woke. Say season 6 is when i started to turn..
Maybe im esp sympathetic to the show cause my baby daughter started watching season 1 with me/wife when she was 3 or 5 years old...
I miss the game and im thinking about restarting it from scratch since the real fun was the journey to being uberOP..
Think it took me a month to unlock the uber stuff & The War ELephant and cooler stuff..

It's cool to like the game for it being more adventure time content, and being nostalgic for the shows fine. My argument is this game is disrespectful of players with how much it tries to suck money out of you. It's comparable to gatcha games.

As a Bloons title, this game falls really far short of my expectations. It's a step down from even Bloons TD 5 in terms of performance and gameplay loop. The slow drip-feed of low quality loot boxes artificially slows the game to an absolute crawl.

~1~ ur probably right the games dead and i guess im bummed out based on the amount of TIME it sucks outta the player. 600 hours for me.. it was my main game for a month or two..
~2~ i didn't feel the game pressured me to buy any microcrap.. Maybe ive forgotten as it's been almost 2 years since i played... I did buy the 3 characters VampMarceline,TuxedoJake,,and Train Finn.. Even though the game is nowhere near as money grubby as others= being less greedy is still greedy. They didn't have to make it Freemium... At end of the day im against this type of cancer to gaming..

Lastly,,does Bloons 5 + 6 have micro transctions?

Dude, it's a time consumer where you slowly unlock sh. if u got everything fast it would be over quickly...
i've played alot of TowerDefense games mostly on steam but some like Kingdom Rush on ipad and i dunno what other TD formula you are measuring it against?

Balance~ you slowly unlock a new character or trinket and upgrade the character to be effective.. For me it was IceKing 1st. he would freeze em...
But i digress until you tell me the TD ocmpare so i understand. unless you just wanna hate and then i'll accept that too ;D

Thanks for reminding me that people were calling me arrogant, because I recommended other games by same developer and also gave out couple of tips how to support this game and which item to use for easily farm in-game items.

I haven't played in a year but i'd be lying if i didn't accept that i been thinking about/missing it lately.. I did install OrcsMustDie3,,DungeonDefenders-1,,and Sanctum2 for my TD fix.
But it's not the same for sure..

I just started playing BATTD a week ago. Didn't spend anything, just kept grinding. You really don't need to spend any money unless you want to unlock Tuxedo Jake, Hunter Marceline or Dungeon Finn. The game just takes time and strategic thinking. I've lost so many times to an unpoppable level, but eventually understood which characters need to be together and what trinkets they need to carry to win the game. Overall, a good game. I play it on my MacBook via Steam and then on my iPhone. I might look into purchasing BTD 5 or 6. Once I 100% BATTD.
