The Game Stucks at "Loading Profile..."

I have no idea why. The game worked previously, but after my laptop freezes (i doubt this is caused by the game, because my laptop is acting funny lately), the game wont go past "Loading Profile" screen.

This same problem has developed for me today too.

The game then sticks as the OP says on "Loading Profile" after obeying the instruction to "Click To Continue". It may possibly stick eternally. I am not ashamed to admit I got bored first on each reattempt.... (nearly 20 goes now in 5 hours).

Got the game working fine on my phone app so withdrawal not a threat but would love to regain access to my game on Steam.

A similar problem has been cropping up in BTD6. They have a solution which I'll link below, but I'd try [e-mail] first.

I fixed this using the recommended fix in the link provided in reference to BTD6, but the correct folder is 979060 (at least for me). I recommend moving or copying the existing folder someplace else, just in case you delete the wrong one. Obviously if you haven't backed up to some sort of cloud you're gonna lose your data, but hopefully you did that.

I figured out a way to fix it while keeping my save. I backed up my old save file, deleted the 979060 folder, then played the beginning of the game until the part where it gives you free reign. Next I closed the game and replaced the newly created save file with the old one and booted up the game, and it ran just fine. I then created a new profile based on my steam account and everything was back to normal. I closed and reopened the game one more time just to be absolutely sure that it worked properly and it did. Dunno if it works when linking to a ninja kiwi though.

Having the same issue and nothing seems to fix it. Started today after I mistakenly disconnected my computer by stretching my legs.

Even with deleting the folder mine is still not working. Not sure what to do from here but uninstall and forget about it.
