Sorry! Is this still happening now? If so, can you visit the following folder and delete it:
Windows - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\{{userid}}\979060
Mac OS - ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/{{userid}}/979060
Worked thank you!
Edit.
Strangely enough, another game, upon startup popped an error complaining about being unable to connect to Steam.
I rebooted the PC, started Steam and tada - both games are working.
Seems B:ATTD does not pop an error when there's a problem with Steam, so try rebooting first. Worked for me just now.
I found another solution to the problem without deleting the whole folder (with the save). There are two 1kb files with the name player-index-PRODUCTION and another one in the folder with the save, with the name identity. I deleted only those two, and when I opened the game, I just had to linked my steam account again, and after that it worked.
