What do you guys think? I am not sure yet but there are some i never use if i have the chance to avoid them like Harpys or Gnolls. Do you have a personal ranking?

I quite like the Skeleton Soldier, the Orc Druid (who revives allies as skeletons), the Elementals (Fire and Air especially), and the Skeleton Archer. From the newly added mechanical ones, I quite liked that flying drone thing that can debuff armour and the thing shooting bouncing explosive heads.

Gnoll is indeed quite underwhelming and I've not found him useful. I did find Harpies useful before as they're pretty fast to act and can inflict tiredness state if I am not mistaken. I find some of the tank enemies like Orc and Boarman to be a bit underwhelming and die too quickly. Their only damage is physical and only to the front row, where heroes are already beefed up on armour.
The Orc has a quite powerful scream to demoralize! Isn't Gnoll the one with the Stun attack?

I think it was the Boarman that had the stun attack, though I think it was only 50% chance to be inflicted. My main issue with Orc and Boarman is that they often get killed before we can gain much benefit out of them. I think their HP should've been a bit higher at least (or scaled up to a higher amount upon levelling up).

I actually quite like the Boarman. Maybe because the stun-chance seemed much higher than 50% in my games. Gnoll does natural damage and benefits form attacking heroes that suffer from frost bite (sorry, dont know how its called in english). But i never bothered to upgrade one. Maybe there ist some bigger value hidden from me.

i rarely am successful when i try to defeat the heroes via moral damage. so i seldom use the orc scream

Same here regarding the morale damage, particularly in the second year part of the run. I prefer HP damage strategies more. Although it's nice that lowering enemy morale has other benefits now, such as making them take more damage (I think it was added in a recent update). This makes it good for combining HP and morale damage.

Yeah, with monsters that benefit from heroes having status effects, I find they're more useful as the 2nd group of monsters, after heroes have been inflicted by some effects already, especially if they come right after a trap that puts status effects on heroes. Monsters such as Flame Eater for example can be handy at such times. Though Gnoll's overall damage output was just too low for my liking.

Beastmen - Kobold Drummer + Harpy = Air resistance negative will boost kobold drummer damage and harpy boost action speed

Undead - I try to avoid this class, terrible synergies & relics

Demon - Gargoyle stacking

Elemental - Earth turtle front, fire turtle mid, fire golem back - THORN STACKING

Mecha - 2x spear guy (poison stacking) or 2x guy on the robot legs thing (head explosion demorale stacking), have the spider mech in the middle casting shield first round and spamming flame stacking afterwards

gnoll can be pretty good at stacking negative effects and gains passive resistance from enemies having alot of effects on them
theyre great 2nd room units if your first room strat is to stack tons of bleed and poison on the enemies

Skeleton troops, the poison arrow skele my favorite one.

I haven’t done anything beyond the first chapter, but gnoll is pretty strong with 180hp, damage shell, and Debuff stacking. Combine that bad boy with something to do poison and a harpy for tiredness, and you can wipe the room nicely under some conditions.
Candy cane lady and the fire skelly are also reliably strong.

GOBLINS are superb when they are leveled up so attacks apply both poison AND bleeding, and they are very fast! I think he's my favorite.

GNOLLS work well when teamed with Goblins and/or Succubi which apply poison. Their attacks get a good buff on poisoned heroes and they have a good amount of HP.

Skel Soldier was nerfed and isn't a favorite for me now.

Skel Archer got even better with the patch!

Skel Dog and Succubus are always acquired as fast as I find them. Dog can steal an Artefact for me and get me free Tears, while the Succubus can get me free promotions. Since they are both good fighters as well, it's a twofer!

Boarman I just gave up on. Usually he dies without even attacking and I have NEVER seen one get a stun!

Elementals range from very good to awesome! Thorn-stacking elementals rule!

Mechas take careful planning. The best is probably the Hawker. If he's got a single point of Barrier his Hawk damage is doubled...and he's fast! If the back two heroes have neg armor, he'll win the battle himself.

Tank- I keep expecting it to do something great but the heroes' AoE attacks keep whittling down the barriers so he can't get off his best attacks. I'll keep trying...

Roaster- I find it's mostly useful as a blocker, absorbing attacks while others do damage. His sacrifice move is helpful for the Hawker but too little to affect most battles. Overall, he's not very effective.

I quite like the mecha (Hunter) that shoots poison arrows. Since he buffs his own barrier AND deals damage and two poison with the attack, he's the most viable of the mechas.
