No way to turn down romance as a female -__-
Enjoyed the game to start with - then realised there was no way to get the female characters not to pursue me (another female). No way to say 'nope, not interested, don't swing that way'. I don't see the point of allowing people to pick a portrait if there is no difference between playing as female vs male? Or even allowing male characters the option to say no. In story-based/choice games it's expected behaviour to have this sort of option at this point but not in this case. I should have researched it more thoroughly, which is on me.

I have played for 2.1 hours which means too late to get a refund...Personally not interested in going on with the story because I realised at that moment I was just RP-ing a male/lesbian ultimately. Other than that, the setting was immersive and it was an interesting setup. But yeah, if you want to play as a straight female/have no romance, don't make my mistake.

Guy here. Played through ch2 just now, could not maintain the balance like i did in the second game - i finished that one without relationships but with good standing for both girls nonetheless. This time around i couldn't avoid Evelyn's relationship. Not that i mind, if i had to pick withouth third options i would pick Evelyn, because she had better attitude last game, but i do understand your sentiment

This is NOT a "story-based/choice game", it's a game about romance. So yeah you can't say no to the main point of the game. It's like playing Diablo and being mad because you have to kill him and can't join him.

b-b-but this game advertise itself as such...?

Speaking of Diablo, that would be a pretty cool plot twist.... I wonder how that'll turn out end game when you reach him?

Diablo: "Now you die!"
Warrior: "Wait! I want to join you!"
Diablo: "Huh?!"
Warrior: "Yes, I have been through many floors of this dungeon and decided the best way to win this game is to join in the fun with the boss monster."
Diablo: "Whhhhaaaa......"
[credits roll]
Narrator: "In the end, the warrior that was sent to save tristram from its nightly terrors has succumbed to the darkness and serves the dark master for all of eternity...."
....

It's a shame because the game does tell a nice story that can vary based on your choices, but the core is indeed your character falling in love with one of the female characters.

The game is kind of like a VN game where you're basically just reading a premade story, but you can affect what ending it leads to. That's as far as the scope of the game goes. You don't have to be a specific orientation to enjoy a bit of teenage love drama; there are entire TV networks based on that concept. Enjoy the story as you would a book.
Well, I chose this game precisely because I have romance with the girls.

Tbh, the game was very obviously written as a male character romancing female characters. There is zero choice in anything and even though they let you pick a profile picture, it never feels like you're playing as a woman either so romance or not, it's a restrictive game.
