How to deal with ADOFAI not opening after the update

I've found the solution to this issue somewhere in a comment under a discussion, I couldnt find it since then; but for these who are seeking for the answer, I've got it.
I think this works only if you were previously using mods (ex. ADOFAI tweaks) which is most likely the only reason that the game cant load, I'm not sure how it will work in a different case scenario though. Here are 4 steps on how to fix the issue:

1. unintall adofaiTweaks from your game files (you can simply do this through the UnityModManager installer)
   
2. in the mentioned mod manager find the location of your adofai files . You can also find it in steamapps > common > a dance of fire and ice
   
3. find two files called "unityModManager" and delete them (most likely it will be somewhere in data folder > managed)
   
4. try opening the game. if the issue persists, please consult it in the comments as i will be glad to help in any way possible

psa.: i genuinely have no idea whether you can edit posts; if theres a way, i will update it and give credits to the original message regarding the fixing stages. if theres no way, i will definitely post the link to the message somewhere in the comments. This thing has definitely worked for me but i had to sacrifice my adofai tweaks in order for the game to work. i believe theres no recent version of adofai tweaks that allows you to use it in the current update.

You could try to back to the version "older-2.9.8 build",maybe it can work.

waste of money, i deleted all mods, unitymodmanager, i deleted adofai and reinstalled, i installed the older version, nothing works, it wont start

Could you send a log at some point either here or in a thread in the bug reports forum, and does the game work on Beta, or one of the previous builds?

removing UnityModManager worked for me

I found that going to https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/21?tab=files&file_id=7839 then putting the file in the game directory then running the console, updating it, then closing the console, works. sorda... . it just lets me open the game... never said it would work...
