Game Won't Open (Mac)

The new update has made it so I can't open the game. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and the problem persists. Help?

Same problem. Until a few hours ago I was having a blast with the game, and now it doesn't open at all.

Does it open now? We are trying a temporary fix where we disable the World 12 update so that you can play while we work on a permanent fix.

It was working for me like 4 hours ago but now I'm having the OS error after the most recent update

well it opens now without the new update. Actually the reason i wanna open is to play the new world lol....

It still doesn't open for me, getting the exact same error.
On the other hand there wasn't any additional update for me since my post yesterday, so that was expected.

Is there a way to reverse the update and run it as before?

EDIT: Tried the beta that was available and it works now. (Properties -> Betas)

Hi Josiah, we are trying to figure what's the problem. This is a temporary solution, but could you try this? And let me know if it works!

1. Go to your Steam Library
2. Right click on A Dance of Fire and Ice
3. Go to Properties
4. Local Files -> Browse Local Files...
5. The game folder should appear, right click on "A Dance of Fire and Ice" and choose "Show Package Contents"
6. Then go to the MacOS folder, and double click "A Dance of Fire and Ice". It should open the game successfully.

It seems that the executable name was changed in the latest version of the game and macOS doesn't recognize it anymore. We just have pushed a new update that reverts the name, and the game now should run properly. Please let us know if you still have problems, thank you!

The game doesn't run either normally or even with the beta any more, as I posted above.

Though it runs with the "Show Package Contents" solution, hence not directly through Steam (so no achievements, play time, etc)
