starting help?
i didn't play sg3 before releae, but now i'm going to try. in principle it seems to be exactly what i have been waiting for since freelancer ... but .. i am subtly overwhelmed. not from the game itself, or the possibilities .. i have already played a lot of space sims. but the degree of difficulty .. that means i don't know where to start .. i have played the story so far that i have to fight my first capital ship .. the pirate girl at the beginning .. but she takes me apart in seconds but takesno damage at self .. the missions only bring little money.. and even if the hundreds of thousands would farm together, there is only equipment to buy that is maginally better .. i just don't know how i can get money and much better equipment .. nearly everything kills me.. enemys.. radioactive clouds.. where can i make some progress? any tips for beginners?

Hi Jolt. I'll try to help out a bit. First - perform barman missions as much as possible in every freeroam location opened by the game in campaign mode. With getting credits, you'll also increase in level. Assign skills at weapons (beware skills are awarded to weapons you plan to use) and shields (recommended). The more skill points you spend on something, you'll get perks each 4 spent skill points (perks will automaticall add special abilities to weapons or anything they are awarded to). Next - get new weapons, initially game gives you only shoddy version of weapons, they are weak. When you're getting new weapons, be careful to buy as many same weapons as you have available weapon turrets (they are on wing module and number varies from 3 - 7), otherwise you'll only have one. Also, capital ships are more vulnerable to weapons dealing anti hull damage, then they are to anti shield weapon.

Earning money - barman missions (all on tier 1 maps shouldn't be hard), you can take up to 3 at the same time to speed up the process. Next, encounter quests - get them along the way while travelling (there are easier and harder, randomly popping in time intervals, follow the exclamation mark on the map, and remember they will not appear until you are lvl 3). You can take it, and if it is too hard type, just ignore it and leave the area until you take a different one.
Next, you can mine rich asteroid field, derelicts etc. Regarding radiation nebulas - if you are to go into one of them, either get some nano scrubbers equipments items to occassionally clean radiation, or invest in stronger shield module with at least +6 radiation defense (that will prevent radiation buildup in weaker radiation nebulas, or decrease speed of buildup in stronger ones). Note that, when you destroy derelict in a nebula, first stage destruction of derelict will add more temporary radiation, then just put some distance to that new cloud and return when it dissipates... More money earning ways is crafting, if that's your thing, entering shipwrecks and asteroid caves if you find them etc...

Now, figth against Ravena - when you are better level, have better weapons, then make sure to equip your slots with enough repair nanobots and shield boosters (like mana and health potions). When you attack her - evade fire from her cannons, try to get behind her and target lock her when you're closer - that will reveal capital ships weakpoints, and if you destroy these, she will go down much faster. Also, missiles of "torpedo" types are best against capital ships. Alternatively, light weapons of "cannons" type have by far longest range and you can snipe her from distance.

In the end, you can also change difficulty in options during the playsession any number of times you want, if you want it.

I could speak about many other things too, but I hope this is sufficient to start with...
