But probably the biggest (For me anyways) is the complete ship customization, RGO has add a weapon, shield and armor, but looks the same, SPG 3 you ship actually changes when you change/add parts. I can not wait to play around with this in game!
Being they are both space games, in smaller ships this time, I can see some similarities with both games, but I am quite sure SPG 3 will be rather different than RGO, We just have to wait til the 5th to start seeing.
And remember SPG 3 is releasing in Early Access, as per RGO was a live build, your feedback helps shape the game, LGM listen to all community feedback and take on board what they find functional for their title.
Overall, both will be/are great space games, and knowing the quality of LGM, I am very confident SPG 3 will be their best release yet.
I am not overly keen on RGO, what it does it is very good especially for a 2 man Dev Team. But I felt the same, its was way to easy and over very fast. I have played all the SPG games and knowing LGM very well, I am confident you will have a ton of hours in game prior to becoming some immortal (if the game allows you to become so powerful) Space god!
One thing I am sure of, LGM will make SPG 3 something pretty special, and with Early Access around the corner and how LGM listen to player feedback I think SPG 3 will be pretty entertaining!
For example, you'll be able to choose to build a ship that can carry more cargo, but has less health or a ship that can take more punches, but can't carry as many items. Things like that.
Skills and crafting is also planned to be added during the early access and more stuff will come with community's feedback as well.
+1
-About 7-8 ships total in game as of right now
-Story-focused on the Juno lady from the first game
-Ship Customization limited to paint-jobs
-Fighter / Dogfighting Focused Space Game
Starpoint Gemini 3
-Fighter / Dogfighting Focused Space Game
-You have 1 ship, but it's completely modular and can be changed with modules that change it's physical appearance and how it functions. The best way I can think of it is that your ship is kind of like the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars, it's your "Main" ship and rather than sell it or junk it for the next best thing, you upgrade and replace parts on it to make it better. Basically you can make your ship a fighter, hauler, et cetera, based on how you build it, as it's modular and all.
-Story of the game is focused on a guy named "Johnathan Bold"
-Game will have both options for Story and Sandbox, although you can basically play Sandbox after the story, Sandbox just typically removes the story elements from the game and lets you go crazy with what to do. It's a typical feature that was also present in Starpoint Gemini 2 / Warlords.
-Game size will be 3 planetary systems, but they're pretty large. Prior SPG Games were set in "Gemini", a single planetary system, but they were still pretty large. Since we have 3 of them in SPG3, the game world is going to be much larger than Warlords or Starpoint Gemini 2 were.
-Like Starpoint Gemini 2 and Warlords, there will be an RPG system of sorts. You can upgrade the skills of your character, Johnathan Bold, which gives you abilities and such. That's probably the most unique feature that Starpoint Gemini brings to the table, as I don't think many other space games have anything like that.
In comparison, the Starpoint team is nothing less than Godlike.
Got to love the tag line then. Going to be Epice with the Steam logo underneath. LOL.
Now I am dang curious. Did Epic come to LGM and LGM refused like another developer or they were never asked, to say no. :)
What are you referencing? Because Travis is a lot more patient with folks than I would be in his place!
I'm on first name terms with the CEO of my company, that doesn't mean I know the guy. Get real.
