The launcher itself is around 20gigs, you can choose freely which modules to download either in-game or though steam's dlc management menu. Keep in mind you can also just buy only the games you're interested in, but you're still going to have to download the launcher unfortunately.
20GB just for the launcher, though? If it wasn't for that I might have just went ahead and bought the third game.
From the second post in this topic I gather that Reach is included in the initial download. I won't be able to confirm that until it finishes downloading (half way through so far).
EDIT What I don't understand is why Halo 2 single player is such a massive download compared with the later games.

I'm not interested in the multiplayer modules (at this time, anyway), and the language packs don't matter. Don't know what constitutes Reach content pack 2, or whether that's included in the initial download.
Only Halo game I've ever played is CE on PC on disc many moons ago. Had a single core Pentium 4 back then. Time flies.
