Download/installation size of the individual games?

I wouldn't mind trying one (or maybe all) of these games, but my internet speeds aren't great. I understand that if I buy the collection I can choose which games to install/uninstall at any time. Is that right? If so, what size is each game?

If I remember correctly, Halo Reach is the only game installed by default and it shouldn’t be more than a couple gigabytes. Every subsequent game can be downloaded either in-game or from the DLC section on Steam and it will tell you exactly how large each game is.

The launcher itself is around 20gigs, you can choose freely which modules to download either in-game or though steam's dlc management menu. Keep in mind you can also just buy only the games you're interested in, but you're still going to have to download the launcher unfortunately.

Well, I bought the collection. Just starting to download/install now. The initial installation is an 18.4 GB download, and the size on disc is 29.1 GB. Going to to take some time.

From the second post in this topic I gather that Reach is included in the initial download. I won't be able to confirm that until it finishes downloading (half way through so far).

EDIT What I don't understand is why Halo 2 single player is such a massive download compared with the later games.

It'll finish downloading tonight, but firing up Reach will have to wait until tomorrow.

I'm not interested in the multiplayer modules (at this time, anyway), and the language packs don't matter. Don't know what constitutes Reach content pack 2, or whether that's included in the initial download.

Only Halo game I've ever played is CE on PC on disc many moons ago. Had a single core Pentium 4 back then. Time flies.

i haven't played any halo games before even though i owned a 360, i'm pretty hesitant about getting the collections and end up with a bunch of outdated games for the already halo nerds, but if its a quick small download i'll reconsider

Halo 2 has a very large more recent graphical remaster that you can toggle on and off during gameplay, so it has a considerably larger download.

Yeah halo 2 Anniversary is, on a technical level, the most modern game in this collection.
