But if it is a thing then my god Halo is effing dead. I thought crossplay wasn't a thing and thats y the population was so small; but man the population is effing pathetic. U know, for several games that used to pull in over 100,000 at 3 am EST U.S timezone.
You can't actually see all the players, obviously.
It's only going to count the steam ones. The steam version, which only released relatively recently in comparison to how long MCC has actually been active.
The true playercount is unknown.
I have my suspicions that it's smaller than one would expect overall though, everybody says they like Halo but nobody actually wants to play it. If it didn't have crossplay you would find no one, it has been a very long 10+ years. Halo as a game has regressed to being niche like all the other classic PC games.
as for multiplayer problems, with crossplay on I have only found AFKers, and Halo has always been a tryhard game, just turn the acceleration up to 6 and you're good.
I have never played without crossplay, so the rest I cannot say.
Mnk will never be able to compete with controller play in HALO.
I kinda do that all the time though. The bullet magnetism is so damn strong you may as well not even use the keyboard on social games.
