No- you don't need xbox live gold to play it online on PC. Console users need to pay to access paid online games. FREE games on xbox one don't require gold membership. Just in case you don't know.
Just know HALO 1, 2 are only 2 players. The others are 4 players.
Halo CE has a memory leak issue so the game will struggle to run. Halo 2's co-op is broken. The other titles work fine. Also game uses p2p connection so if someone is across the world from you. The game will lag.
Thanks. The guy I'll be playing with is American and another friend I played Halo online with previously is in Japan so I'll be expecting lag. The American friend I played GZ Doom with too which was peer to peer as well.
