Lack of saved progress in co-op is ruining this game for me.
I started playing Halo CE with a friend, and we got to the end of a long, challenging level. One of us briefly had internet connection problems, probably lasted 15 seconds, and our game was disconnected. We had to start the entire level all over again from the very beginning because the game does not save your progress in co-op! Extremely frustrating. Supposedly this is the case with every game in this collection?

I bought the MCC to play the campaigns co-op with my friend, but this is a major kill-joy. I read on the Halo Waypoint forums that none of the Halo games on Xbox saved your in-level progress during split-screen co-op. Is that true? It just seems really counter-intuitive to always be required to finish a map in one sitting, especially with the possibility of connection problems. When you both die, it loads the last checkpoint just fine. Why not make this an option when resuming a game at a later date? It makes no sense. Anyone know of a way around this?

Yeah can confirm that it's always been this way even on Xbox. As far as I'm aware there's no way to save co-op at all. The best you can do is start from rally points but that's only available in H3, ODST, Reach and possibly 4, can't remember if it is in 4 or not.

How strange, when I played co-op with a friend a year ago, I don't remember if he kept the process for us ... But in the Xbox 360 versions he did, I suppose it has to do with the issue of being online.

Iirc halo 3 odst was the only 360 release to have saved coop checkpoints, but I could be remembering that wrong, unfortunately with future and some previous halo games no mid game progress was saved in coop, my guess it was in the knowledge you shouldn't have issues beating missions with a friend or 3 therefore not needing to save it, but didn't take into account that people may be playing online and will have issues, it is annoying though, like if you're playing laso on tnr then you dc at the end, so I know exactly what it's like dude

Thank you for the replies, that definitely helps. Dang, so then the likelihood of it ever being patched is very, very low. :/ I guess we'll just put up with it and hope for a good connection. I grew up during the time when your NES could glitch on you at any time, and you had to pull the cartridge out and blow on it, then start the game all over again from the beginning... So I guess I'm already used to it, lol! XD
