The plasma repeater...whats's the point?
You know I like having a huge arsenal in the game that it's both fun and efficient just like in Halo 3

But the Plasma repeater? why does it exist? whats's it's purpose? and why does it suck?

Isn't the plasma rifle better?

Listen I know a lot of you want the game untouched but I feel it could use a little buff, just a little one maybe? dunno

I don't mean anything crazy either like taking out DMR starts but I think the automatic weapons could use some love. Maybe the Needle Rifle doesn't need to take more shots to kill than the DMR when Invasion is technically a competitive mode....etc. Things like that could only serve to help the game

It's terrible. All the Covenant weapons in every game always got the short end of the stick and it's not fair.

Yeah it kinda sucked because the Covenant is presented as this huge threat because of their advanced weaponry.

Same could be said about the Scorpion and Wraith
How come Scorpion is way better in gameplay terms

Well, the plasma repeater could be refer'd to as 'The Covenant Assault rifle', right next to the Storm Rifle in Halo 4. It get's inaccurate the more you use it (in one sustained attack anyways), so people probably just don't find it helpful.

I mean they still have a fair amount of good weapons

Atleast the Storm rifle in Halo 4 wasn't that bad

Lore wise yes, but in terms of gameplay a lot of UNSC weapons and Vehicles are better and more versatile
For example compare the Scorpion and the Wraith, which one would you use and why?

A lot of Covenant weapons being projectile based is one of the reasons...

i personally think the plasma repeater is far better than the assault rifle.
Especially in PVP. Its honestly a good weapon in Invasion.

But i hate that its trying to replace the plasma rifle.
And i hate that the storm rifle in halo 4 actually did replace it.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Same could be said about the Scorpion and Wraith

Well their advanced weaponry is powerful against the marines because of their lack of energy shields and lower-grade armour.

As for the wraith, well the covenant can probably mass produce those things in much larger quantities than the UNSC can for the Scorpion.

Plasma repeater is supposed to be the covenant version of the assault rifle

Bungie nerfed the assault rifle in Reach making the only viable method of using it the (shoot -> melee) combo

The same can be said about the repeater.

In a face to face brawl, yes you are absolutely correct in saying that the scorpion is better, but if you are trying to play the wraith the same way you play the scorpion, you are DOING IT WRONG. The wrath is not so much a tank as it is mobile artillery, and it needs to be used as mobile artillery, otherwise it will just get wrecked. In otherwords hide behind cover and lob shots over it. You might get called a little b***h for it, but that's how it's meant to be played.

It's supposed to drop shields faster but do less damage to the player when the shields are down so I guess iys good 8f you want to shoot then melee or shot then switch to the pistol
